Leap Blogging

I am genuinely sorry to see Soylent Green throw in the fork. How I wish he could have found what he was looking for, there are respectul and good theological discussions on blogs out  here that would give him what he longs for.  A kind and wise voice is going silent and we’re the worse of for his departure, I learned a lot from reading him.

If people could write and show him what he longs for on other blogs, could they persuade him how needed and welcome he is? If I could beg him to keep going I would, we need people like him in the faith blogs sub-division.

Jordon Cooper has a review of  Real Live Preacher’s book up (Reallivepreacher.com) at The Ooze. I hadn’t thought much how fellow ministers would see it, that book is a great read for us none ministers, full of lasting life lesson stories - and Jordon gives his review a preachers perspective.

From Talk To Action:

When the Sunday morning public affairs talk shows think about getting a Christian view on public affairs who do they call? According to Rev. Robert Chase, Director of Communications for the 1.3 million member United Church of Christ, over the past 8 years the Sunday network public affairs shows have interviewed political leaders of the religious right 36 times, and leaders of mainline Christian denominations such as the United Church of Christ, United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A), American Baptist Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, African Methodist Episcopal Church, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Reformed Church in America, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, among others — exactly zero times.

Buzz Machine has a post up from a talk given by by Alan Rusbridger, editor of The Guardian on newspapers in the age of blogs. It’ amazingly not boring, its honest, innovative – you don’t have to like media and newspapers to get a lot from this post.

Joel has a post at connexions called Taking a Gamble at In the Agora. He focuses on comps  that were offered in a post and lays out some of the background of PartyPoker (online gambling) and the legal and moral problems with associating with a gambling site.

About Bene Diction

Have courage for the great sorrows, And patience for the small ones. And when you have laboriously accomplished your tasks, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.
