Sue Bailey of the Ottawa Citizen has an article up on a prayer rally held on Parliament Hill yesterday.
Great day for a rally.
Two things though, I cannot find 4 My Canada anywhere online.
The article states the rally was financed by:
…the independent, non-partisan group 4 My Canada, whose members are overwhelmingly young and Christian
There were about 5 thousand ‘young’ people, defining themselves as between the ages of 18-35. The article states what they say they are for:
- to pray for elected lawmakers than to berate them (leave that for Charles McVety and  Tristen Emmanuel)
- reconsideration of gay marriage (Bill C-38)
- Conservative efforts to raise the age of sexual consent to 16 from 14 Bill C-2?)
- Liberal Paul Steckle’s private members bill that would outlaw abortion after 20 weeks of gestation (Bill C-399)
A 26 year old organizer says:
“We really honour them as our leaders, and I think that’s a rare thing for them.”
Honouring leaders is TV evangelist religious sub-speak. See morality restored in Canada is a familar refrain - the political wishes so nicely laid out, I’m sure fellow citizens and leaders are delighted to take the ‘young people’ at their word. I hope they’ll be able to honour our leaders when politicans don’t vote the way they want them too.
Another organizer says the rally was held as part of ‘a growing movement’ to:
“see morality restored in Canada,”
The religious sub-speak like ‘growing movement’ doesn’t offer clues to who financed this party.
“It’s pretty well-known that between the ages of 18 and 35, we’re the least engaged citizens in Canada,” she said. “We don’t vote, we don’t speak up.”
“We realized that our voice, the socio-conservative voice, was being raised by our parents and older groups but not really by us.
“We realized that we needed to take responsibility for that.”
Okay. Good. Voting beats peeing on a national monument. Essex MP Jeff Watson showed up to say thanks for saying thanks.
The socio-conservative voice, loud and proud through a bullhorn on the Hill:
“In the name of Jesus, we take back our sexual purity!” Â
Okay.
Found them!
Fly High MinistriesÂ
My Canada runs off Fly High Ministries (heavy Active X)
4 My Canada blog
Canadian Christianity article connects a few of the dollars dots…
The Miracle Channel, Watchmen for the NationsÂ
Note: Load Fly High, My Canada, The Seige and The Miracle Channel at your peril. I’m serious, apart from Active X that makes your eyes ache, you’ll be bombarded with militant charismatic, dominionist, prophetic, third wave, home grown fringe religion.
And spam.Â

Deleted.Â
Oh great.
Hit some of those sites and five minutes later the spam starts. BDÂ
I wonder if you or anyone else could find out what Jeff did say to this crowd the night before as he was the guest speaker.
I haven’t seen much on this at all. I didn’t see anything on his website. If you find anything, please let me know, if I come across his remarks, I’ll post them.:^)
