The powers that be at the recent Southern Baptist convention were not happy with bloggers, because they had an influence, both ministers and lay people. In preparation for the next SBC convention the attacks are starting early. Dr. Moore of the South Baptist Theological Seminary recently:

You have some bloggers in the SBC who are just immature jerks. But the things they are blogging about are just the same kinds of things they would be saying as immature jerks in a seminary cafeteria just now the have a venue to say these sort of things. And then you have the blogofascists — a group of people who are using blogs in order to spread gossip and division and in order to use these blogs as means to destroy. Those are very different things.”

But, can Southern Baptists Agree to Disagree and Remain Friends? Is that a serious question? It hasn’t worked in the past - what’s changed?

Wade needs to remember that the ONLY way to cooperate with a Fundamentalist is to obey HIM.

October 6th, James Dobson of Focus on the Family said on his program: (Title: Update on the Mark Foley resignation)

…..”There was a, uh, comment by a blogger this morning who said ‘Dobson has been ominously silent about this’.

Well, I haven’t been quiet, I just, uh, have not been willing to do about a hundred interviews and, uh, just to go running all over the country tryin’ to keep up with what the media wants me to do. But, uh, we have, uh, made it very clear, we issued a press statement about what, uh, what Congressman Foley did. And, uh, what he did is why he resigned as soon as the revelations became known and, uh, it was appropriate that
he, uh resign. That should have been the end of the story….

You know, I’m getting hit from all over the place and, uh, uh, somebody’s goin’ to have to tell me what in the wide world this indiscretion by a, uh, member of congress has to do with Evangelical Christians and and in my case especially me ?

Dobson had his Vice President Tom Minnery on the show with him. Minnery ended with:

“You know what I fear is happening - and I don’t know how to assess this I fear that we’re in a society in which you will he held to the standards which you claim.”

Googlers and bloggers do not have an original thought between them. Their ruminations on tax reform, Europe, immigration, Iraq, security, education and the rest have already been googled ten times over by fellow bloggers copying their source material from some other blogger’s googling diatribe to the local newspaper.
