Grassroots projects are the focus of the Stephen Lewis Foundation — providing resources to small, front-line groups that make tremendously effective use of comparatively small amounts of money. On rare occasions, the Foundation funds larger undertakings where we are sure the funds are being disbursed at the community level.
For the past 3 weeks, Waving or Drowning has been busy getting bloggers to spread the word that a 10 dollar donation will go to where it is supposed to, through the Stephen Lewis Foundation. So far $2,939 dollars have been raised.
Bloggers can do this. Here is a breakdown:
Number of Donors:
241
Countries Represented:
Number of Blogs linking to (Red)emption (that we’re aware of):
57
(I see there’s been no change this week in the country list. We really need to see some additions on the international side!)
The donation button is here. Canadians know the reliability and commitment of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, 90 percent of donations reach their designation. We faith bloggers know the heart, skills and commitment of Mike,Sue and Robert at Waving and Drowning and Mike’s fellow students at Regent College.
I’d encourage my blogging friends in the UK, New Zealand, Australia and Canada to join in.

Thanks for the plug, Bene.
We can do this!
This sounds like a great idea!
Just a point though. There are 13 provinces and territories in Canada (3 territories–Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut) now, not 12.
