There is a new blog feature that is making me nuts.
It’s called Snap, and all it is is a fancy pop up. I have no idea whether bloggers are putting it on their blogs (like tags) or whether is part of my browsing experience in IE7.
I hate it. Anyone know how I can turn them off?

You are currently browsing the Bene Diction Blogs On weblog archives.
For blog design, Wordpress or MovableType coding or blog consulting, see cre8d design.
I’m with you on that. It seems to be “visual clutter”. I’ve only seen it in operation on a few blogs I visit, but it didn’t enhance the experience.
Use the icon on the right of your taskbar after you click start. Its the red one with the vertical line in the middle of the circle.
After you click it, popups won’t.
And no, I am not lurking! (just smirking).
I’m not sure what it is, besides aggravating.
I had it on my site and after about 2 days, I started to hate my blog. I took if offline tonight and had it deactivated on Wendy’s blog as well.
I feel like I need to do some penance or something. It really was that annoying
I was wondering what the heck those were. For 10% of Wordpress blogs they are beta testing it. Here’s there blog post : http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/12/29/snap-to-it/
Luckily you can turn it off by going to presentation and extras. You will only find the link if you were part of the Beta.
Thanks Bene, we were all thinking it. Yes Jordon it was that bad.
- Peace
Get Mozilla?
It’s easy in Firefox, just add http://*.snap.com/* to your ad blocker, and voila, no more annoying Snap bubbles, but I cannot get them to stop in IE 7.
Until someone at wordpress.com gets the message these are seriously annoying, it’s up to bloggers to turn them off under options. Thanks Jordon!
Hamster, that icon doesn’t make them stop. ar arrr.
Follow directions here so they won’t bother you anymore:
