Here is my cancer information. Now I am told that the treatment for all cancer is different. But here is what the doctor used in my case and what I did. Be sure to consult your doctor for advice in your specific case.
The cancer I had was colon cancer that took 8 years to spread to my left lung. It was inoperable; there was a 2†tumor & spots on my lung.
I received CHEMOTHERAPY-FOLFAX / LEUCOVORIN / OXALIPLATIN / 5FU
I had treatments for 5 days in a row then I had 11 days off. I did this for 4 months. My doctor’s name is Dr. Steven Limotanie. He is here in Charlotte, NC.I also took vitamins A B C D E, one aspirin a day, I took 4 Barley Green tablets a day (called Green Supreme) they have a 900 number: 1-800-358-0777. You can take up to 10 of these a day. Simply put, it’s just God’s green grass! I ate anything GREEN I could get my hands on, lots of vegetables and fruit. I feel that this kept my immune system working well and my blood cell count up.
I would suggest getting a book on nutrients and taking what you feel will work for you. It sure can’t hurt, even so let your doctor know what you are taking. I drank Slim Fast everyday as it too is filled with vitamins and gives you energy.
Listen to your body! If you feel you are receiving TOO MUCH Chemo or radiation, tell your doctor! Don’t be afraid to get a second or third opinion! I have had 3 girlfriends die as a result of too much chemotherapy. So it is crucial that you receive the correct amount and the correct mixture for YOUR body. Get regular CAT scans and PET scans! I have them every 3 months.
The last month I decided that I was going to stop chemo early. I felt it was doing my body more harm than good. I did that! I stopped and took a months rest from it. And I was right! I did the CAT scan and PET scan before I’d take any more treatments and found out I didn’t NEED any more chemo! Had I not taken that upon myself, listened to my body, I would have had a month of chemo that I did not need. I did this with my doctor’s cautious blessing! Ha! Ha! But with or without it I would still have done the same thing. BE A PART OF THE DECISIONS MADE ON YOUR BEHALF! Don’t be afraid to ASK QUESTIONS! WHY was my constant question.
My doctor said something to me that I felt was very informative. Many times chemo and the amount you need is trial and error. That is why they call medicine a “PRACTICEâ€! I started my chemo in California. When I got to Charlotte, my doctor cut the dose they were giving me by 25%. If you feel like you are getting too much, if the chemo is making you too sick, you might be. Ask your doctor to try a smaller dose and see if it compromises anything. BE A PART OF YOUR CANCER CURE.
I believe that one of the most important parts of cancer treatment is your determination to get well! A good attitude! I tried to live and do as much as I possibly could, a NORMAL schedule. I walked every day, even if I was tired. I went out to eat, even though I could not taste a thing. It was good for my morale. I shopped; it was good for my morale! Ha-ha! I even traveled and did church services even though I could hardly talk. The cancer had partially paralyzed my left vocal chord.

Her second husband, Roe Messner has prostrate cancer and rejected traditional treatments. First husband Jim Bakker has gone on to start a show in Branson Missouri. with his second wife. Tammy Faye went on to become  known in popular culture, writing books and appearing on TV, well liked by gay, lesbian and transvestite communities.

Update: 09/05/07 Tammy Faye Bakker-Messner has written a farewell to her fans, the server for her site has been overloaded most of the day.  She was treated for colon cancer in 1996, and for lung cancer in 1994. She had been posting cancer treatment updates on her site for the past couple of months. She is 65.

Dear Tammy, Visited PTL back in 1980 or so and stayed with friends who my husband and I had known in Kentucky who had moved with IBM and lived near the grounds of the PTL Village. Diagnosed with gallbladder cancer in March,2006, had a liver resection in midJune 2006 and now the resluts of PET show the existence of cancer cells in the lung area, near the section of the liver that was resectioned and a small area they say deep in the abdomen. You know Tammy, am trying to seek God as to treatment as they approached me with chemo, radiation, do I take this or not. Have had my moments these past couple of weeks . Dear Tammy, I’m so sorry to hear on Nightline of your stage 4 lung cancer. I didn’t even know you were sick. I nearly died of a serious lung disease myself many years ago, so I know a little of what you are going through now. You probably think it would be best to just give up and go on to be with Jesus, and that might, indeed, be best for you. However, it would be best for the people of this nation to see you live over this cancer as a high profile, indisputable testimony to God’s care for his children. That is extremely important given the sharp rise of atheism and all forms of radical unbelief in this country.
Let me tell you a fascinating story of a dramatic healing that I know about first hand. On Mother’s Day, 1997, my 86 yr. old mother was in the intensive care unit at Arlington Memorial Hospital expected to die of congestive heart failure at any second. She had miraculously survived this terrible condition for 26 years until that time. The doctors counseled me to allow them to remove her from the medical devices that had brought her back to life each of the four times she died before I got there that day. My response was to tell them to keep bringing her back while I left for about an hour to think about it.
Leaving the hospital, I was in a state of sweaty panic because I knew that my mother was not really a Christian even though she was a great churchian. Had she died then, she would have gone straight to hell. So, I got in my car and drove to a city park. On the way, a Bible verse kept sounding in my brain like a loud broken record: “THE EFFECTUAL, FERVENT PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILETH MUCH.” It shortly became clear that God was telling me this verse contained the method by which I could pray down life saving healing for my desperately ill mother. In analyzing the meaning of that verse, I decided that “effectual” meant making a case for my mother’s healing, as would a competent attorney pleading his case before a great and fair judge. So, I began to think of all the reasons why God should heal her IN PERFECT JUSTICE. During this time, I also thought about the meaning of the word “fervent” in that verse. To me it meant getting so intensely serious about arguing for mother’s healing that I would become extremely, demonstrably and genuinely emotional on her behalf. I didn’t care if people saw me yelling at the top of my lungs and gesturing with enormous energy in my car as I laid my entirely valid claims for healing before the true and just Judge of all the world who will not be unfair or do evil in any respect.
As a literally sinless (righteous) Christian man, I knew God had to take me and my case before him seriously. And, of course, he did. When I returned to the hospital, all but one of the original 5 doctors had left her bedside. The medical machines above her bed that had been saying mother was immediately terminal were now saying that she was in normal good health. The remaining doctor was flabbergasted by the rapid, dramatic change.
I brought her home again in three or four days, and she lived happily for another year and 6 weeks. I had asked God for a year’s time to lead her into genuine biblical salvation, and on the next Mother’s Day (1998), she was in the intensive care unit again but without having been saved. I asked God for more weeks and he gave us another 6 during which time mother finally became in truth a genuine Christian. She passed on easily in her own bed at home with me by her side. I am quite certain she went to be with Jesus where she is today waiting for me to join her in 50 years or so.
I said all that to tell you this: you need to find a real prayer warrior to pray the depths of the meaning of that verse correctly on your behalf. It has to be someone who loves you greatly, is wholly unselfish and pure of heart, and someone who is unafraid to do what is absolutely necessary in terms of fervency to get results. I’m a professional actor, and it might take someone like me used to expressing profound emotion to demonstrate the extreme level of fervency required for healing stage 4 lung cancer.
If you can’t find the right prayer warrior, the next best thing would be to consult Life Extension Foundation’s doctors for the kind of serious, effective alternative medical treatment they can provide that you should have had (and it’s a crime you didn’t) many years ago. Get a phone number for them at lef.org on the Internet. They are entirely reputable and superbly capable of saving your life. A nice little Florida vacation with them could do you a world of good right now.
May our Lord richly bless you, Tammy. By the way, why don’t you read some of Charles G. Finney’s writings while you are resting in bed? More than anyone else, he knew how to become entirely, literally righteous through pure motive which is required for the above verse to work. Great man, great truth, great benefit.

Aggelos is a New Testament Greek word for messenger. It is used of angels as God’s messengers from him to us and from us to him. These messengers can and do also mediate divine healing to God’s kids.
Over a good many years, I have read much about cancer, its causes and cures. One of the best books I’ve seen is “Dr. Folkman’s War.” I read it during a recent bogus lung cancer scare in my own life. It is the story of a wonderful Jewish research doctor’s struggle to find a means of cutting off blood circulation to cancers thus forcing them to die of malnutrition everywhere in the body. He was ultimately able to create this tremendously beneficial class of drugs despite strong and consistently hateful opposition from the medical establishment. His anti-angiogenesis cancer drugs are now available in some places. They are reported to usually work. You might want to consider checking to see if what you were taking before were these kinds of drugs. I believe the book said that they are given by needle injection as often as needed. If not, then you might want to seriously consider starting such treatment as soon as you can find a cancer clinic or hospital offering them, that is, immediately if not sooner. Reportedly, there are little or no side effects to these drugs at any reasonable dosage. Roe might consider doing the same, of course, for his prostate cancer. However, please consider the possibility of doing this while getting help from the doctors at Life Extension Foundation at the same time. In my long calculated opinion, they are far and away the best available, and that could make a HUGE difference as it usually does in matters medical.
You should know that I am a Christian theologian, not a medical doctor, so these are the opinions of a rather well informed medical layman with no legal right to prescribe anything medical to anyone. Tammy, please take them as such.

Imagine yourself right about now getting a hug from a big, strong man of 72 years upon this planet who still feels like he did at 25, doesn’t look remotely like his calander age, lifts heavy weights at the gym (800 lb. maximum contraction leg holds) and sprints like Bugs Bunny overdosed on pep pills. dear sweet Tammy Faye! Love is eternal and when our breath and physical body is tired, we become very weak, we are helpless just like we were as a newborn babe. Our step into eternity to be with our loved ones and Jesus and our Heavenly Father is nothing to fear and the Holy Spirit gives us peace and comfort and is taking that step with us. He holds us in His arms and carries us like the lamb and we see the glory and majesty and love of God. That vision and love and peace is beyond my description but I know how much we all love you as does our Heavely Father. May the Comforter and your guardian angels surround you with love and peace. It is sad to leave your loved ones here but there are just as many loved ones waiting for you in Heaven. Your faith and prayers are heard and it is only a brief sadness because there is such rejoicing and glory in Heaven when you enter the gates. When you feel sad, cast your cares on Jesus.
