Okay. I’ll bite.
Why is World Magazine blog taking a swipe at Christianity Today?
I burst out laughing, and I don’t think that was the intent.
Both are religious magazines in the US, so there is some competition for circulation, ad revenue and online readers.
Christianity Today was started in 1956 as counterpoint to Christian Century, and the company (Christianity Today International) now has 13 publications.
It was a pioneer in weblogging. There are about 2 million hard copy subscribers, the online site gets about 10 million hits a month.
CT actually does try to cover the world as best it can.
World Magazine was launched in 1986, has about 120 thousand subscribers and is a news weekly, the fourth largest in the US. Founder Joel Beltz was a solid reporter.
The readership median age is 52, I don’t know the magazine web stats.
The editor is Texas journalism professor, Marvin Olasky, author of Compassionate Conservatism. If I have my facts straight they are retooling their online site and will roll it out in July.
This is a cheap shot, and quite unprofessional.
It’s the kind of behavior one tends to associate with an online tabloid like World Net Daily.
Why in the world would World allow such public unprofessionalism?

I wouldn’t read too much into it. It was one World blogger (not one of the major World names) griping about a bit too much Emergent attitude in CT. If that entry came with Marvin Olasky’s name or was published as a World article, it would be a major shot across the bow.
As is, it’s just one contributor to World’s blog running his theological mouth; I came close to becoming one of those contributors before I bowed out, seeing that it wasn’t quite the writing format I thrived in.
If there are other blog post of magizine articles on that vein, we may have an intra-evangelical food fight going on. Hold your fire until then.
Most of us have been guilty of running our mouth off from time to time, a blogger ailment. It’s the weekend, the usual editors were probably off having a life.
World uses a very specific writing style, it was nice they asked you, your writing voice doesn’t need to be squeezed into a pyramid style.
Theological food fight, - great image.:^)
