While ITV blocks North American viewers from seeing thier footage of contestants, YouTube posters put this show out there for us. Literally a couple of million people have watched a 36 year old opera singer from Port Talbot, Wales. And a million more looked at contestants Damon Scott, 6 year old Connie and the other finalists. When Paul Potts opened his mouth and this voice came out of him, I figured by the way the clips were edited he was the odds on favorite to win, and the show producers would slant it that direction. Even if they hadn’t, he has an amazing life story and as with any music, a voice that hits both sides of our human brain and releases a happy neurochemical cocktail. I’ve been sitting on news sites, if I am understanding correctly 2 million viewer votes were cast in the final.
