I’ve joked in a post about Poland’s government wanting to investigate the teletubbies to see whether they were ’suitable’ for viewing.
The situation for Polish citizens is far worse, and the European Union has been asking Poland to get up to speed with other union countries on human rights issues.
The details in this story aren’t something I can independently verify, but if a fraction of this diaspora is true, it’s deeply disturbing.

I’ve been following this as well, as my wife and I will be moving to Poland in 3-5 years to do Christian Church Planting training (best words I can use to describe the vision for now… it’s more than “just” that).
In addition to gay rights, there’s a number of other issues going on in Poland as well. The ultra conservative Catholic politians also make it virtually impossible to create protestant communities… there are a few, but many of them were created right around the fall of communism, and now it is much harder to start anything.
In fact durring the year that I lived there not only did hear horrible talk of gays in the catholic and protestant communities, our little church plant was “black listed” by the Radio Maria catholic radio station as a cult.
The assumptions and perceptions of the “powers that be” are so scewed by fear, rigid religion, and in some cases hate, that balanced, grace filled teaching is very hard for people to grasp outside of long lasting relationships (the very reason God has placed Poland on our hearts).
There is much “missionary” work to be done in our own back yard, and in the church itself, yet, we have found that going into another culture has given an imediate openess to truth that other Polish Christians have found very hard to speak into their own culture.
