I was unaware that the RevGalBlogPals were incorporating.
They have become official. With a board even. Not only are they becoming a 501 (c) The RevGalBlogPals went from a group of women in ministry around the world supporting each other online to being official and charging a membership fee.
That also means delinking people that don’t suit US sensibilities.Â
The RevGalBlogPals are BlogHer only much smaller and more exclusive.Â
There are all kinds of religious communities online, this group had been close with each other the past two years. Given the climate online and the vulgarities woman leaders in churches face, they’ve needed to be.
They grew to 300 blogs in the space of two and kicked out a long time member a few weeks ago; who handled it with more grace than the ones that booted her out. They even issued a board statement.  Kate, I am sorry this delinking occurred. Everyone isn’t welcome at the table.
I’ll let Mad Priest explain.Â
The other Baptists (an AP headline for not-Southern-Baptist-Convention Baptists) have chosen to exclude in their 2008 convention they are holding in Atlanta in January.
(What is up with Georgia? That’s where the RevGal…oh never mind) Two groups have been told they are not welcome to participate in the other Baptists get together. Theofragen explains.
Since Canadian Baptists were invited and said they’d show up to the celebration, I had a silly thought that perhaps they’d speak up. Yeah. Silly thought.

Heya! Thanks for the supporting words.
Thanks also for posting about the Baptist convention, and the people being excluded. I suppose I ought to be comforted that it isn’t just me, but it’s saddening.
It is sad, the stained glass ceiling is a reality to many of these women ministers.
A blog ring is not a church – it was the Inc. that was a bit of a clue.
Many on this ring are splendid folk that aren’t going to stand for blaming God for a petty decision made by a new board, or let the fear of men ‘seeing a cat fight’ override decency.
Delinking people in such a way is shameful and willfully hurtful and fear based.
God bless you Kate, go under His mercy.
