The Anglican Network of Canada, which wishes to split from the Anglican Church of Canada is holding it’s conference this week to lay out it’s plans to help congregations who no longer want to be part of the world wide communion.
The ACC is upset with same-sex blessings and consider themselves truly orthodox. Canadian Anglican dissidents lead by retired bishop Donald Harvey, will meet in Burlington this week to unveil up their plans to leave the 600 thousand member Canadian communion.
The conference schedule and costs are here. The conference is called Building on the solid Rock. Harvey has placed himself under the authority of the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone, which takes in most of South America. He was received by Primate Gregory Venables last week.
Harvey, who has been a minister and priest for 44 years explains why he plans to lead the split in The National Post.
Property disputes with schismatic churches in the US have been in the news.
People who need to leave the communion won’t be at all happy with The Royal College of Psychiatrists Special Report to The Church of England. (.pdf) Nope. Not at all.

One of the things that I appreciated about many mainline denominations is the wide range of views that were tolerated. You could have Anglicans or Presbyterians or Lutherans with varying perspectives. Not so much anymore, on with the ideological purity tests!
Sigh…
Yes, well said - not so more. I think we are in a time of splits, disagreements and tribalism and it may take awhile to swing back to denominations that tolerate wide ranges of teritary views.
