Fox Entertainment Group buys Beliefnet (is it just me or does an entertainment group buying an independent faith website sound silly?)

Pat Robertson steps down at CBN (just as CEO, not off the 700 Club, and yes, his son Gordon is now the boss. Nepotism in religious media is a norm)

Bene, his son Gordon is very well qualified to do the job. He has a high level of education. So outside of being his son, when one looks at his qualifications, it makes no sense to be overgeneralistic and not recognize the qualifications of a person. Should Pay ignore his qualifications just because Gordon is his son? If the most qualified person happens to be a relative should the organization be hurt by not having the most qualified person?

It’s actually not that big of a stretch. Another NewsCorp subsidiary (Harper Collins, IIRC) owns the Zondervan publishing house, including the Family Christian bookstore chain.

If there’s eyeballs on sites, there’s money to be made, and Murdock’s folks are happy to be in on the action.
