5 of 11 professors in the Regent University School of Psychology and Counseling have quit recently. Students are fearful.  Saying there is a culture of academic insensitivity is probably kind. The Virginia Pilot has some details.

On a related note,  Creflo Dollar has um, resigned from the Board of Regents at Oral Roberts University, and Benny Hinn has been relegated to status of regent emeritus. 
That’s about the equivelent of the emperor having no clothes, it means Mr. Hinn has no vote. His opinion is worth as much as his honourary doctorate. Bloated board:

ORU’s board has 23 business regents and 18 others who are spiritual regents, associate regents and regents emeritus. Those 18 other regents do not have a vote in business and financial matters, according to ORU’s bylaws.

The bylaws give Richard and Oral Roberts wide authority on all spiritual matters, including the right to veto decisions by business regents on such matters.

Canadian Richard Pearson who runs Pearson Bus Sales Ltd. in Brantford Ontario, now has a vote on the ORU board.  The University has not released a recent auditors report. Motions regarding the court cases go before a judge tomorrow. today. The parties have been ordered into mediation (normal process) the defense (ORU) wants a gag order.  The decision has been held over to January.
