How was your Christmas? 
Mine was quiet, except for one thing. Everyone I talked to today is seriously ticked at Foreign Minister Peter MacKay.
Everyone isn’t a lot of people - under 10. I try to keep Christmas quiet.

I don’t know what my friends and family vote, I don’t care. The anger was at the flat out lying, to us, the voters, at the expense of the Canadian military, their safety and at the expense of voters.
Because I like to take a break from news, I wasn’t the one that brought this topic up,  I made the mistake of flipping on the  TV news last night After all the Boxing Day shopping stories, the Afghanistan visit was almost buried. It was so blatantly pandering and sucking up to the US neo-con agenda, I turned it off.

It’s Peter MacKay’s job to go visit the troops. As is General Hilliers. It was the third guest and what MacKay said that has the people who mentioned it to me to angry. 
The U.S. Ambassador to Canada, David Wilkins went along for the ride,  to make sure MacKay stayed on the US message. A commenter at The Galloping Beaver made the point Wilkins offered to media that he flew to Dubai on the US dime  before any reporter noticed and asked the question. Red flag.  Wilkins flew in with MacKay at Canada’s request my ***. 
The Afghanistan Ambassador to Canada called MacKay on the carpet.

Let’s not forget how the US administration used the Brits in September 2003 with this sentence: “The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.” to bolster their justification of the invasion of Iraq.  The rest is history.
MacKay:

Afghanistan has “very negative influences coming in from other countries — Pakistan, certainly Iran in particular,” he said.

“We’re very concerned that weapons are coming in from Iran, we’re very concerned these weapons are going to the insurgents and keeping this issue alive.”

And the proof is where, Mr. MacKay?
It’s not that hard to dig up facts to prove or disprove what you assert.  Far better minds that yours have chased the facts, and your assertions don’t add up.
