Most countries do not call call Scientology a religion.
Gawker media is being threatened by Scientology for running a Tom Cruise video (legal action is operating procedure for Scientology)
Over a million people have seen the video on several sites, it was removed from YouTube and promptly put up by another user. The more suppression is used, the more people see it. The genie is out of this bottle, legal action in the online age can backfire.
Letters from Scientology lawyers to Gawker are here.
The most informative site on the cult of Scientology is Operation Clambake, who has been online for years, faced threats and has an extensive data base.
When the Gawker legal threats broke, hackers hit the main Scientology site. Although Operation Clambake has been the target of Scientology for years they condemn the hacking.
The author of Operation Clambake does not condone such activity. Attacking Scientology like that will just make them play the religious persecution card. They will use it to defend their own counter actions when they try to shatter criticism and crush critics without mercy. I believe we are better than this cult and, face to face using democratic tools, most free and thinking individuals will see through their charade.
People should be able to have easy access to both sides and make up their own opinions. Freedom of speech means we need to allow all to speak - including those we strongly disagree with. I am of the opinion that the Church of Scientology is a criminal organisation and a cult which is designed by its delusional founder to abuse people. I am still committed to fight for their right to speak their opinion.
I support and appreciate all who want to help inform others about the dangers of Scientology, but I urge all to use methods that separate us from those we want to fight or criticise.
The dangers of this cult cannot be played down. Again Operation Clambake is a good place to start.

The Church of Scientology is known for its unethical behavior toward its critics. Its hate and harassment activities often include abuse of the law:
The purpose of the suit is to harass and discourage rather than to win. The law can be used very easily to harass, and enough harassment on somebody who is simply on the thin edge anyway, well knowing that he is not authorized, will generally be sufficient to cause his professional decease. If possible, of course, ruin him utterly.

Denis McGrath just posted a parody of the video by actor Jerry McConnell. I nearly wet myself laughing.
That is hilarious!
He has him down cold.
I don’t know what is funnier, the hand movements, the giggling or the vacuousness.
Thanks:^)
