Compassion International taps bloggers

Church Marketing Sucks has a post on blog month for Compassion International.

15 US bloggers were sent to Uganda for a week this February.
Compassion Canada sent a Canadian blogger  minister to Honduras in January.

This isn’t a contest to see which western country can pay the most  bloggers to take a field trip and post awareness raising, it’s an international aid agency mostly known to evangelical churches desperate to get it’s message out.
The bloggers were mostly church staff since that is the agency target market.
The US Compassion branch is offering a scrapbook to US bloggers who post about the organization.

The reasons for this kind of marketing have to do with the power of a story. Church Marketing Sucks says stories convey experience, technology, lose of control, and a call to action.

About Bene Diction

Have courage for the great sorrows, And patience for the small ones. And when you have laboriously accomplished your tasks, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.
