I got a response my from Senator very quickly.
I admit I was surprised. Realistically how often do any of us feel the need to write a Senator?

In a perverse way we owe a thanks to Charles McVety, if he hadn't started crowing the chamber of sober second thought wouldn't have seen a few words authorizing the will of a few slid into a big bill.

I'm impressed at how well Senators responded to their constituents within a 72 hour window and sent this back to committee.

That's great news. I got a brief Blackberry message from Senator Sharon Carstairs stating that they were definitely going to look at the issue.

You can't get any further from the concept of transparency than the Harper government's unannounced insertion of those key "13 words" in a long awaited house keeping Bill based on prior consultation on issues that had nothing to do with something as critical as censorship.
