I don’t watch the Michael Coren show, I just haven’t paid any attention to what channel he is on. (CTS)
The Phantom Soapbox watched the August 14th program.

I understand Coren had Kathy Shaidle on as a guest, who some time ago ended her Relapsed Catholic blog and launched Five Feet of Fury. Along with Shaidle, Coren had lawyer Jason Cherniak, a liberal blogger and party member, who I also haven’t paid much attention to.
So many blogs, so little time.

Kathy Shaidle chose to publish email between herself and Chernaik, which mentions one of his clients.

She is already being sued for libel because of a guest posting at small dead animals. From her site defense fund request:

I’m being taken to court
for criticizing Canada’s
“Human Rights” Commissions
.

And it looks like she could have another libel suit on her hands. Jason Cherniak:

I had no hesitations about appearing on the Michael Coren show. I think he’s a smart guy who runs a good show and I appreciated the opportunity to speak to his audience. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to appear with Kathy Shaidle, but I figured that I could handle anything.

What I did not expect is her complete, total and utter maliciousness. From the moment we met I could tell she had already decided she didn’t like me. Following the show, she linked to a comment from February where she questioned my legal abilities. I wrote a private email expressing my disappointment. Her response was to take it as a personal attack and try to send her readers after me.

I don’t care about any of that. I’m quite certain that reasonable people will understand my position. However, I do care that some of her readers are taking it upon themselves to go after me as a lawyer. Specifically, they are suggesting that one of my clients - who I have never mention on this blog - is being badly served.

I once made a mistake in going after somebody else’s work and I’ve apologized. I’m glad I did, because it means that I can come at this from a point of principle. Bloggers who attack my reputation as a lawyer will be sued. It is very simple position and I do not believe anybody can seriously question its soundness. If you have gone after me as a lawyer, you had better take it down. Libel notices will be served next week.

Kathy Shaidle’s post was picked up by Blazing Cat Fur, a conservative blogger taking Five Feet of Fury’s reference to Jason Cherniak’s client.
Kathy has chosen so far not to remove the post: A paper airplane from the children’s table.

It is now 25 hours after the posting
of this article and there is not one
    comment on it.

It is telling that nobody should
comment about Coren et al. because
his influence and reach is only to
the converted and they don’t read
    here, I should imagine.

Not one person has come to his
    defence. Telling.

Kathy is being sued for defamation, and not the commission, defamation of an individual, the paypal button blurb is a bit misleading.

Can’t recall any Coren fans stopping by to chat over the years.:^)
