I don't think there needs to be targeted "trolling" there; they'll get that from the natural flow of things. It is a bit troubling, since CT tends to be evangelical without being partisan, so it isn't a place that writes troll-bait pieces. It isn't a place where folks on the hard left tend to hang out, so I wouldn't expect liberal nastiness on the CT comments barring some semi-organized effort to do so. I was surprised. The level of coverage at Christianity Today is moderate, to see such a low level of discourse surprised me. It's something I'd be more likely to see at Daily Kos. Wouldn't surprise me to see the flip side when CT covers the Republican convention.
