A playwright and actress is accused of holding a technician hostage because he couldn’t fix her internet problems.

Carol Sinclair, 53, was arraigned in Halifax Friday on charges of forcibly confining Aliant technician David Arthur Scott, 21.

After spending Thursday night in a police cell, Sinclair has been released on conditions including that she have no contact with Scott or any Aliant employee.

…Const. Jeff Carr said Scott had been called to fix a woman’s Internet connection Thursday but he determined the problem was with the computer, which angered the woman.

“She didn’t like the answer and became very angry and agitated. She told the technician, in a tirade, that he was not leaving until her Internet was working and she told him she was keeping him hostage,” said Carr.

Women held techie hostage

Aliant is a subsidiary of Bell Canada which has over 2 million customers.
Make that one less, it’s been happening a lot lately.:^)
The new CEO of Canada’s largest communication company, George Cope said in July 2008:

“Bell’s goal is clear: to be recognized by customers as Canada’s leading communications company. I look forward to leading a unified, re-energized organization focused on attaining that goal by delivering a better customer experience at every level.”

Good luck with that.

Bell Canada is a communications company which does not communicate very well.

  1. 1 Torontonian

The Bell GlobeMedia CTV merger was when Bell really started
its downhill slide. Shareholders became more important than
the subscribers. Profitability reigned over service.

I can’t count the number of empty buildings or vacated buildings
in downtown Toronto that were once populated by Bell.

Pity. It was such a good company, once.

I agree it was a good company once with an earnest history.

When the departing CEO gets a 6.1 million raise, it’s an indicator of where priorities lie.

It is now reactive and as a business model that’s not good for consumers.
