Peter Kent and Canada’s religious right

Dr. Dawg looks at Peter Kent, Conservative Party candidate for Thornhill.

Kent, a former Global news anchor/editor is a senior member of Canadian Coalition for Democracies, an anti-Muslim group. This his second shot at a parliamentary seat.

As Buckets asks at Bouquets of Grey what did Kent have to do with his organization  on the astroturfed call for impeachment of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Beverley Maclaughlin put out by The Canada Family Action Coalition?

Fair question.

That CCD is a disturbing group – I’m preparing a piece on it right now and just happened on this page in your archives during my research. It was started by Kent and largely a collection of Jewish pro-Israel activists in Toronto, though it’s also connected to the Canada Christian College and the Conservative Party – a large chunk of its directors are former partisan staffers.
