I went backwards down a flight of steps yesterday. My head basically broke my fall and I have a minor concussion and a headache. That and some colourful bruises. Fortunately it was a small staircase.

I’m surprised given the tumble I didn’t break, but I’m okay and it’s a good time as any to slow down a bit.
I wasn’t knocked out, pupils remain equal and reactive, my colour was okay, no bumps or bleeding, no confusion, I had some initial dizziness of course, but there is no restlessness or heart rate and respiratory changes.
Just sore, and I notice I’m making more mistakes than usual, which makes sense for a few days after banging one’s head. I’m a bit drowsy, which is expected and I’ve made sure to let people around me know. Feeling stupid is a small price to pay, if I do have delayed symptoms they’ll make sure I get to the clinic.

Ouch! That’s frightening, I know. I hope you’ve got people who can spoil you a bit for a few days so that you don’t have to fight through the foggy moments alone. All the best.

“My head basically broke my fall” surely isn’t the best of ways to land. I’m glad you’re not injured worse and will pray for your recovery.
