I see connexions is down - it is my home away from home and a popular Methodist blog in Wales.
Richard, while you’re working to get your blog back up – your log in is still good here. Keep us posted and if there is anything any of us can do, holler.
Update: Richard’s webhosts turned his blog off because they say connexions was causing a high server load. I’m getting a forbidden today , which I think means they are working on getting connexions back up and running. The short version over at Fat Prophets is spammers – not getting through on the blog, but hitting the server.

Thanks BD. I’ve spent a frustrating morning, but it was worth it in the end, and all is now well.
You are missed, hope you and your server people can plug the leaks and get you up again shortly.
“Your server people” being, myself, of course!
Yes, it looks like it was spammers that was causing the trouble. I persuaded my webhosts to let me have my database back and took the opportunity of upgrading the WordPress script again. I’ve also added some extra anti-spam measures. But it wasn’t spam getting through that was the issue. It seems to have been attempts to get through that were causing excessive load on the database server. My webhosts are going to monitor it to try to track down exactly where it is coming from.
Spam is a curse, isn’t it?
I was going to say I’m glad it was just spam but that doesn’t come out right at all!
