Cary McMullen of The Lakeland Ledger:Todd Bentley Controversy Continues went to a source for react to Fresh Fire Ministries Canada recent board statement.
The react gets weird fast because Bentley decides to respond to Fresh Fire Canada’s board statement through Steven Strader of Ignited in Lakeland.
Todd Bentley hasn’t been in touch with Steven Strader, his Lakeland revival partner since August 5th
Through Strader, Bentley doesn’t deny his affair with the former family nanny.
Strader says what others have said: Bentley has been living in California since disappearing
Through Strader Bentley says he isn’t an alcoholic but admits he got drunk more than once when he was preaching in Lakeland (Bentley had substance abuse problems since age 11 and claimed God healed him)
Bentley as previously reported is supposedly in California (near associate Che Ahn?) Seen in Redding California where long time associate Bill Johnson is – BD
Who is living in the Fresh Fire Ministries property in the Lakeland area purchased earlier this year
Strader says the Lakeland revival cost his church thousands of dollars but he has a book coming out that will give his perspective on the ‘revival’
Through Strader Bentley says he can’t come home to Canada because he has visa problems
The Straders have a checkered history in Florida. Google Steven, Dan, Karl.
Canadian reporter Rick Hiebert has followed Todd Bentley since 2001.
He has some questions in: Todd Bentley’s sock puppet will now field questions from the press?
He has questions about a ministry that I cannot find listed with Revenue Canada.
Several months ago when I visited Bentley’s MySpace page I believe the family was listed on his sidebar.
Sound of Fire shows up in the Internet archives (Wayback Machine) as a Bentley online store in July 2006.
Is Revenue Canada paying attention?
The IRS?
UK Charity Commission?
One of my readers alerted me to the Florida coverage and asks:
1. Is Todd Bentley an illegal alien having visa problems?
2. Is he afraid to return to Canada because the B.C. Government has some serious questions it want to ask him about “welfare fraud” and other fraud?
3. Where is Todd getting the money to stay in United States since he resigned from Fresh Fire Ministries?
4. How come there has been no accountability for all the money Todd Bentley has collected during the Lakeland Revival?
5. Did Todd send the money to Canada or did he keep it for himself?
Fair questions.

On the issues of the affair and getting drunk more than once at the Lakeland revival, I have some points I would like to get across.
1. Most people who drink deny being an alcoholic, even the alcoholic. 2. Mr. Bentley could not deny the affair, he got caught.
Here is how it really is Mr. Bentley. A small sin can be the first step, in turning away from God. It’s not the sins we don’t know, but the sins we choose to excuse. This is what causes trouble. So, should we let sin go unchallenged? Remember, one tiny sin, you are aware of, can fester into a deadly sin. Like an uncurable disease. Should we excuse it (sin)? I say don’t excuse it. Talk to Jesus about it. Really talk to him.
Look at Solomon’s kingdom. Because of his great wisdom it flurished. However, he was not any less subject too the effects of sin. Read the story Todd. Because of it, his kingdom was divided.
Mr. Joyner, you should know Solomon excused sin in his own kingdom. Don’t continue to ask God’s people to follow in yours and Todd’s footsteps.
