GodTV and Focus on the Family have announced an agreement to air the Exodus flagship anti-gay propaganda and distorted science conference.
There are people who watch religious programming, well, religiously. If they are going to sit through Love Won Out, the big get together for a booming US anti-gay industry I think it’s reasonable to suggest potential viewers at least look at this clip.
Box Turtle Bulletin takes a look at this unholy alliance and has great background on the Love Won Out conferences.
I wonder if Exodus can afford to travel from town to town in the US like they used to and this deal is about a cheaper delivery content.
I also recommend reading IMonk’s review of the documentary Lord, Save Us from Your Followers.. This documentary has gotten rave reviews, and lays bare the nastiness of the US religious anti-gay culture war, sparking awareness and discussion in ways no doc on this subject has to date.
I also recommend getting up to speed on how the medical community, religious community and ex-gays who have worked in or been through the ‘message of love’ are speaking out against the false claims and preying on vulnerable people who tend to trust whatever Focus on the Family says. GodTV and Focus on the Families Exodus is a bit of an odd pairing, but good for business as media companies. I wonder how comfortable staid, conservative Focus viewers will be (who might go to a Love Won Out Conference because they are comfortable with the format and delivery) if they tune into some of the other heretical bizarre programming that has become the signature of GodTV attempting to grab some fundamentalist market share. It will be aired on whatever channels GodTV has, and of course streamed online January 16th and 17th.
Press release on the FotF, GodTV agreement

I have never understood the fundamentalist fascination with sex and especially this sexual expression. It does not seem healthy and it has had terrible consequences.
Lord, have mercy on us all.
GodTV seems to be going for political statements, -TBN has the market pretty well cornered on the prosperity gospel.
Between new age neo-charismatics and Fotf, hopefully this will finally turn off audiences outside the US and remove any doubt about what Fotf and it’s agenda is about.
