I read somewhere that 21 year old Miss California who claimed she lost the Miss USA title because of her answer to a Perez Hilton marriage question, has been going to The Rock Church (Apostolic penetecosal) for four years.
News quickly surfaced the pageant organization had paid for her breast implants when she came out as spokesperson for anti-gay marriage in the US. Â
The more public exposure she sought and got, the more was exposed.
Ms. Prejean told pageant officials there was only one semi-nude underage picture of her (which surfaced this week). She publicly blamed people for trying to discredit her faith and continues to do so.Â
Apparently there are more pictures.
Is parental consent required for a 17 year old to pose semi-nude or nude in California?
The bigger question is why did she publicly use her Christianity to advance her profile, sign and lie on her contract?
News has surfaced about her parents acrimonious divorce, which began when she was one year old and continued for years.  TMZ:
Carrie’s parents filed for divorce in 1988 and the divorce and custody fights went on for more than a decade — it was a divorce filled with homosexual allegations hurled by both sides.
In one of the docs, Carrie’s dad describes a confrontation he had with her mom in 1996, in which he recounts an argument in a restaurant parking lot, where “Ms. Prejean accused me, in front of our daughter, of homosexuality.”The papers also quote a court-appointed doctor who said “The mother questioned [within hearing of the girls] whether [her father] was a homosexual or had a homosexual roommate.”
Carrie’s mom says the “gay” allegations went both ways. In court papers dated May 16, 2000, a report from the court-appointed counselor says “The mother also alleges the father told the girls their stepfather was gay, that all men with mustaches are gay.” The father’s response: “The father acknowledges talking with the girls about the stepfather’s brother being gay, not the stepfather.”
Also in the docs — a handwritten letter from Carrie’s older sister, in which she recounts a weekend stay with her dad: “One time my sister & I went in the hallway of my dad’s apartment, & his roommate’s door was open all the way & we saw [the roommate] in bed with another man. I don’t think it’s right for my sister & I to have to live that way.”
So does Carrie believe gays broke up her parents’ marriage? We called her rep … no comment so far. We could not reach Carrie’s dad for comment.
For the record, there are other allegations — absolutely hideous — in the divorce and custody papers — which we have elected not to publish.
The documentation and what she and her sister went through has to be hurtful and horrible if even TMZ won’t publish the information.
The events of her tragic childhood are no excuse for her lying.
It seems apparent given what she went through as a daughter of dueling parents she would have been more easily influenced by false discredited and debunked information on GLBT issues (Paul Cameron) which her church peddled.
She attended San Diego Christian College and was offered a scholarship by Liberty University after claiming she lost the race because of her views.Â
The website which released the semi-nude photos didn’t do so because they care to attack her faith, they did so because she is a public figure in possible breach of contract. They have made it clear to pageant officials there are more photos.
Prejean hired the same religious PR firm which handles Rick Warren and James Dobson. She will be doing a two part interview * with Dobson starting Monday.
Many pageant winners fall from grace for all kinds of reasons, from undisclosed pictures to drugs to murder.Â
Ms. Prejean hasn’t learned lying is a sin no Christian can condone.Â
She seems not to have hasn’t learned contracts matter.Â
Miss California officials will be making a decision about stripping her of her title. Â Donald Trump will apparently announce their decision next Tuesday, California officials Monday. The following reasons for loss of title include:
The directors of the Miss California USA pageant might snatch the title from this year’s winner Carrie Prejeanfor violating her contract by supporting anti-gay marriage group, and posing semi-nude as a teenager. Pageant spokesman Roger Neal said that pageant directors Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler had had closed-door meetings to discuss the issue.
Neal claimed that Prejean had violated many clauses of the 12-page contract, which had to be signed by all prospective contestants before competing in the November state contest. The detailed document provides pageant officials nearly unlimited control of the titleholder”s activities.
The contract prohibits Miss California from making personal appearances, giving interviews or making commercials without permission from pageant officials. But, in the last two weeks, 21-year-old Prejean has made televised appearances at her local church in San Diego and on behalf of the National Organization for Marriage, a group opposed to same-sex marriage.
The contract also has a clause, which asks participants to acknowledge whether they have conducted themselves “in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards.” It even asks participants whether they have ever been photographed nude or partially nude.
The Miss Universe Organization, which also owns the Miss USA pageant sent a letter to the National Organization for Marriage requesting removal of Ms Prejean’s commercial from stations and from the group’s website for copyright violations and use of the April 19th pageant footage for a political agenda and fundraising purposes.
*Update: Christianity Today is reporting Focus on the Family pre-recorded the two interviews with Ms. Prejean (to air Monday May 11th, Tuesday May 12th) prior to Ms. Prejean’s underage semi-nude pictures surfacing.  In the Fotf statement James Daly urges grace. I agree. We have all sinned, she lied, she posed, she broke her contract, as a Christian adult she can repent, accept responsibility, consquences and learn.
Fotf got taken again. (it is not the first time and they never admit they’ve erred) The Focus on the Family agenda is political and they are praised her because Ms. Prejean has already signed up with anti-gay US political groups.
She committed the “sin” of answering a question.
And it had to do with gay marriage.
So now she must be destroyed.

The girl was a fool for posing semi-nude or whatever it was. But she was young and stupid. (Maybe still is.)

If her answer had related to global warming or something, would you have run this same post?
What a strange confluence of the personal history and character and value shaping influences on one person, of religious beliefs and religion – both personal and corporate – of cultural values, big business and show business, the power of the meda, fame, lust… the list goes on and on.
This story is just a convoluted mass of… I’m not sure what or how to even say it. It just seems like this story contains every element of what is the worst of our culture and exposes the ugly guts beneath the shiny veneer.
In a million years I never would have thought a beauty queen could tell us this much about the mess we’re in, that a beauty queen could be… a prophet?

Liberty University and others have done wonderfully well
to kill of this lady’s chances of a future before it could
even start.
These are the same people who are right-to-life advocates.
That’s limited to the unborn. Now we find out they do

Jared, you don’t see anyone here defending negative reaction to Ms. Prejean. Perez Hilton’s rant was a match to dry forest. He’s apologized, the damage has been done.
No one deserves to be destroyed, nor is self-destruction anything to cheer on.
If it upsets you there may be underlying reasons for her lying, her need for attention, her ambition, her breach of contract, that’s your choice.

While Hilton and Olbermann’s (MSNBC) guest went way to far, Ms. Prejean’s new handlers and their friends are just as opportunistic.

Ms. Prejean’s new friends will chew her up and spit her out. I feel sorry for her. She has an two part interview with Dobson Monday and Tuesday, Fotf Citizen Link is all over it. They didn’t waste any time did they? They are playing the persecution meme with aplomb. Had her on the talk show circuit, in the commercial. Sad. The rationalizations at her expense are stunning. The paranoia and blaming is head-ache inducing.
I can’t see much choice, the pagaent officials are going to have to ask her to resign or take her title away.

The state pageant officials are announcing their decision Monday, Trump is making the national announcment Tuesday. Supposed standards are different state to state.

It’s great you can choose, but I don’t think that’s right. And then she went on to become a spokeswoman for anti-gay marriage. So not only is it great you can choose, but she wants to end that ‘great’ thing. I mean, come on.
She signed a contract stating she would not give interviews without permission, and she’s given them without permission…which, yeah, warrants whatever action the Miss Universe Organization deems necessary.
She didn’t have a chance? Really? She had every chance if she had decided to use discretion and maybe a glimmer of common sense.

Now what’s in store for her? Will she get the studies
at Liberty U? Will there be anything good come out
of this exercise?
What sort of future does this lady have? She’s been
trod on, exploited and the target of public anger.
Did her past activities contribute to her present situation
or was she just a gullible “dumb blonde” who fell in with
a bad lot and got taken to the cleaners by the vultures?
I wonder if this could spark her desire to begin advocating
for women’s rights. After what’s happened to her, why not?

She’s writing a book and has started using media saying getting dumped was because of the question. Again.
The emails to the pagaent officials being online have shown a very self absorbed demanding, and entitled young woman who has a lot of maturing to do emotionally spiritually and socially.
It will be interesting to see if she takes Liberty U up on their offer. She’s tasted infamy, it may be hard for her to stick it out and get a degree. She isn’t a 21st Anita Byrant, she can’t sing.:^)
