That Freedom Federation is far more political than it is spiritual. Quite a few charismatic heavyweights like Todd Bentley's buddy Rick Joyner and Strang Communications (<i>Charisma</i> publisher) are on board, but a lot of non-charismatics and even Catholic.org are in the mix, along with some long-standing paleocons like the Eagle Forum of Phyllis Schlaffly as well as the LeHay's Concerned Women for America.

Thus, the manifesto is more conservative than it is Christian; in fact, it is so political that folks of any faith could sign on; their talking points are Rush Limbaugh than any evangelical pulpit.

There may be quite a bit of Joel's Army in their, but a large hunk of the group would look at you oddly if you tried to label them that, for many of those group don't have a common theological grounding. They're too disparate to set up a true theocracy, since they don't have a common vision of God, just a somewhat common vision of politics.

Your post was concise, and I appreciated the clear dominionist and nationalist ties you pointed out.
Ms. Palin has 23 days to go before handing over the job to the Lt. Gov., anything could happen.:^)

Have a great holiday weekend.
