In a post yesterday, I teased Matthew Robert Payne, a fellow from Australia who has started to post “words from the Lord” on YouTube. (His word for Todd Bentley either can’t possibly be right, or it throws Bentley under the bus by implying that Jesus being on stage with him is in the future tense–which undercuts the new revival that Bentley has already started.)
I’ll confess, though, that I like Matthew. He  seems like a nice enough guy who wants to bless through  what he does. But if I were one of the famous charismatics that he has been prophesying over on YouTube lately, I might be tempted to say “Thanks, but…”‘
Take Steve Shultz. He is best known as a charismatic speaker and author who operates The Elijah List, which sends out propehtic messages, ads for conferences and such. I don’t know Shultz as I know Todd Bentley, say, but I do know that some of my blogging friends have concerns  about whether Schultz’s efforts spread unhealthy teachings and theology.
Enter our hero Matthew Robert Payne, who has this word for Schultz on YouTube, just today (January 14):
Matthew seeks to bless Schultz by predicting that he will set cities afire for God. But how he does it is, well, interesting in a back-handed way that he doesn’t intend.
Starting at 1:45, he says to Schultz:
“….The first image I get of you [Steve Schultz]…it’s like a bowl, but it’s like–the bowl is like a cauldron, but it’s not like a cauldron you cook in, the caudron’s like a whole city, and it’s deep, and it’s big, I’m just waiting for the Lord for the interpretation, the Lord says that you are going to come into cities and set them on fire, like a cauldron cooks up special ingredients for a witch, or that’s what I have seen in the past, I don’t know if that is a fantasy or if that really happens…
Imagine all the different ways that you could allude to this. He could be some paper lighting a campfire. He could be a fuse lighting fireworks. But instead, “the Lord” cites a witches’ cauldron on the job.
I can imagine Schultz saying to himself, should he see this, “Oh great, some people already fear that I am not orthodox and you see my work as a witches’ cauldron on the boil.”
Twice now, we have Matthew, perhaps prophesying the opposite of what he may intend.
First, while saying nice and lovely things about Todd Bentley, Matthew notes that Jesus will be with Todd’s word on stage in the future and thus logically not now–while Bentley already has preached at Morningstar for about a month and his new revival is already, shall we say, simmering.
And now, we have the mental image of Macbeth’s three hags perhaps walking in to help with Schultz’s future revival. “We brought the cauldron *cackle*!” 
Is the Lord is putting things in this fellow’s visions that warn the orthodox, Berean type of watchful Christian without Matthew even knowing that they are there? It’s fun to think that that could be the case, isn’t it?

Matthew, may I ask how you get these prophecies. Do you pray and wait, or what? I do sense you love God and some of this prophecy seems very true. I also think some of your prophecies are wrong. I will pray for you. The thing is, others have prophecies for Todd Bentley, and they are this: “Todd is a wolf, a liar, and a huckster.” So who is prophesying correctly? God is not double minded.
Matthew, some of your prophecy was indeed true, some of it was indeed not true. So, after watching this very strange video on youtube where you talk about weird angels, children angels, and so forth (the link posted by midnite birth), I am very concerned for you. You are very off and Satan is playing with your mind. Please get some help, brother. You need to be delivered from a false prophet spirit.

whilst i was checking on youtube i noticed mathhew posted this comment supossedly from mary magdalane or one of the other marys,
my concern is does anyone really think that one of the marys now in heaven would come back and say this to matthew?

Why don’t you start your own blog that way more people will know I am a false prophet. It is pretty simple, just go to blogger and start your own blog. That way you can watch all of my videos and read all my articles and make negative comments and post all you like.
Or is the reason you love this one, because you can see it is on the front page of Google under my name. You know you are a great guy but a jerk sometimes.
My ex so called homeless roommate has told me to tell you to get a life and do something with your days rather then just thinking how you can damage me. He says also don’t bother ringing here from the mental ward crying when you have been committed to a mental ward for night terrors and hallucinations as you will get a mouth full from him and no pity.

You are full of pride and rebellion and you are seeing false visions and so you are no one to speak. If you could see real visions you would see them in Hannah’s videos.

I have to repent publically for my post above to Mark. As all you can see, I am a hurting person and I have not got much experience with people attacking me in a public place. I agree it is God’s place to judge and He is the one that can take revenge for us. It is my job as a Christian to forgive and not curse. For my post and my prayers I make a public apology to Mark/miditebirth and pray that God might bless him rather than curse him.

Matt, I feel you are a brother but very much under the attack of spirits who are not of God. I encourage you to get deliverance. I say this not from a mocking spirit or to damage your ego, but to let you know you are not hearing from God in several area. This video about mary, the child angels, etc. is very very very kooky and not of the Father.
Prophecies of the personal sort don’t move me. So many times they are just plain false.

True or false? That is the question.
Everyone should know there are true and false prophets. Just keep in mind the false prophet willl open the door to deception, when someone does not discern the false prophet. Check out Deuteronomy 18:22. Like in the ancient days of Israel, there are those who claim to have messages from God, but are not sent from God. Keep in mind that the message of a false prophet is to turn someone away from God.
Ezekiel 33:33 In other words you can ID them by their consistancy. So, who can we trust? Certainly not man. A true prophet is consistant according to scripture.
John 10:35 Lets us be aware that God’s word can’t be altered. So, as we accept Jesus Christ as Lord, we must accept his testimony to the Bible. God’s word is specific that there will be false prophets.
I like John 10:37 when Jesus said, “Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work.” In the next verse he goes on to explain that if he does the Father’s work, then believe in the evidence of the miraculous works he had done. LOVE THAT JESUS!
here is a very disturbing video of matthew threatening to kill me and he also tries to heap curses upon me in some of the other videos, i have prayed to GOD about all of this and i think matthew is actually speaking for satan, as i do not believe that a loving GOD would want to do any of this to one of his children just for speaking the truth. i am very surprised he has not made videos about everyone who comments about him.

I am glad you are watching. I am only expressing myself. I am happy that you get the message that you have made me very angry. You might want to look at yourself through all of this and see if you have any fault within you. I am pretty sure you might be able to see you have done things that are no Christ like.
You apparently cast all my demons out. If you are to be believed, that, that , actually happened then you are as bad as Todd Bentley saying someone is set free when they are not set free. I was either delivered as you say I was or I wasn’t.
If I was not set free of all my demons you are a liar to say I was.
If I was set free from them and have not committed sexual sin from that point on, what gave them the right to all come back into me? As you say I am full of demons. If I am full of demons and you already cast them out, what good was it of me to let you do so? I mean what sort of wisdom have you go casing demons out of a person that they are not going to stay out of?
I am under my pastors care and counseling. She is very happy with me and if she was not happy with me, she would not have let me preach to our church last Friday.
As for the people in this blog. they seem to be scared of demons and false prophets. I admit I need personal inner healing to be set free of demons, but I do not agree I am a false prophet.
I have to wonder what all of you people are doing for God? What impact are you making for God apart from calling people false prophets?

Matthew and Mark, ( sort of makes me cringe to write that in this context), this is entirely my opinion but I think you need to either cease this discussion or do it privately between just the two of you. Playing these situations out in public does nothing except bring dishonor to yourselves and the corporate body. Matthew, I think for your own best interests you need to focus exclusively on getting the help you yourself have admitted to needing. As to the other parties who have participated in this attack on someone who is obviously ill and hurting, taking a bit of time to examine your own motives in participating in a discussion such as this might be in order. When this thread first originated it was to discuss an issue of theology. That’s a legitimate discussion. Once things devolved into personal attacks, death threats and obvious mental illness, the best thing to do would be to pray for the best for everyone involved and let it drop. Just one persons opinion, but like my Dad always said, “Pick your battles carefully, most of them aren’t worth fighting.”

Matthew, I’m just curious, are you going to a Christian or secular counselor? Might I suggest that it appears you have had some bad counsel previously and it might be a good idea to see a secular counselor if you’re not already doing so. A secular counselor will understand and respect that you have your spiritual/religious convictions but a Christian counselor will always filter them through their own theological understanding which could either be totally in line with yours or completely contradictory. Either way, it’s not good as perhaps your theology has gotten you to where you are and affirmation of that may not be good and on the other side of the coin, someone with an opposing or conflicting theology might just screw you up worse.

I am seeing my pastor for counseling and she is very good. But I know a person that sees a secular counselor that is covered by government medicare so is free for me. I might also go and see them when this is finished.
Matthew, I had a dream about you last night. You were on a stage and it was the oscars. But the audience was youtube watchers. The camera on stage was zooming in on you and you were fond of the camera. The interpretation of this I believe is that you need to stay focused on your walk with God not the camera. Do what God tells you to do but you have much maturing to do. Some of the things you say is for the camera and do not come from God’s lips. You are too young to know this at times; at other times you do know but do it anyway. You get off and on, off and on. By maturity you will stay on. For now, you need to take a step back and grow. Make God your camera.
I see on matthews facebook page he tells another christian who rebukes him that ‘the kundalini spirit in me tells me that you will come to violence this year’.
Would a real christian say this to someone, who has rebuked them?
A real christian would repent and seek help, not matthew though, he just threatens the person.

I’m sort of new oon the scene, but I must say that as christians we should never attack one another, but support eachother.
The scriptures say, by their fruit you shall know them. If you believe that Matthew is a false prophet, then we will all know, not only by his fruits, but time shall tell.
In the mean time, instead of accusing him, pray for him, for we are all one in Christ.
As someone who has tested the spirits, Matthew prophecied over my life, as well as a few other persons that I know. ALL have come to past, so it was tested and showed that he is a man of God. If he has fallen, I pray that God restores him and keeps him in his will and purpose, because truly he has blessed many.
Those people who constantly accuse him, ask yourself this question _ what are you all doing for Christ? Are you in a position to give a word from God? Please do some introspection before you answer, and don’t let your pride rule.
I think you’re talking about things that YOU don’t know anything about but God will use you anyway to spread His word.
God will relate to you in words, feelings of words and through his spoken word. He speaks in a way that is most comfortable to you. since he showed the guy a cauldron–that was a symbol that his mind was familiar with.
In the church you have sheep and goats. People like you who think it’s your “mission” to expose so-called false prophets are really just goats– There nothing wrong with a goat…they’re money builds churches, websites and blogs that promote God’s word…sheep usually don’t have money…they grow what they need.

i see matthew is still doing prophecy but calling it spiritual reading. surely that is clairvoyant, and from the dark side? truly he has fallen to new depths, of depravity, he also claims to have left christianity for greener pastures, where is that? he has totally given himself over to the demons and the devil.

First of all the Lord told me to post video prophecies under the title spiritual reading to get posted on yourtube under that search term so that I could attract some of the desperate souls who go to clairvoyants.
Second of all leaving fro greener pastures was a joke that I had a friend post.
Still with former friends like you Mark( midnitebirth) I am not sure that I need enemies.
Tim, I assure you that the attacks I have got from the blogs and videos have hurt me but taught me a lot more. I am sure that they are only just beginning in my life.

I wish to thank all the other people who have felt led to write things to me on here and try and correct me. The past six months or however long this blog has existed has taught me lessons and made me grow in my walk with God.
I realise that the calling on my life is going to have many people rise up in opposition to me and many of them will be convinced they are doing the work of the Lord. The Jews thought they were serving God when the crucified Jesus.
I am happy with my walk with God. I am happy with my relationship with Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit. I give honor to Jesus that he would allow me to be attacked by people who think they are doing me and the world a favor.
Jesus assured his disciples that they too would have tribulation in this world. He admonished his disciples to go on when the attacks came to them.
he said even members of their own family would think they are doing good attacking them and rising in opposition.
I have respect for people who think they are doing the world a favor by exposing me in their opinion as a false prophet and teacher. I think it is a highly honorable thing to try and warn the sheep in the world of predators in the faith.
Whilst i do not think I am at fault and need to repent of posting a prophecy on you tube, I do realize that in my many posts online here, I have expressed anger and pain and lashed out at people. For this lashing out and anger in my words I am am repentant of and ask for forgiveness.
I am a firm believer in Romans 8:28 that says all things will work together for my good. I know that every bad thing that happens to me will one day result in me being a better person and ultimately result in the Father getting more glory.
Jesus is just so much better than me. He was criticized and reviled and he did not react as bad as me. I am happy to have Him as my personal savior and I am most happy that He loves me.
I wish all the people on here including the holy spirit and midnite birth all good success in their future and pray that their walk with God would get stronger and stronger and wish to thank them for making me a better person.
Am I going to stop prophesying? No
Am I going to remove the prophecies that are in dispute from you tube? No
I am sorry I have annoyed and hurt people and I hope they can forgive me and wish me well.
I am not going to go to hell, and as you see I will be around for many years to come so I will not be destroyed without remedy as holy spirit tried to make that proverb prophetic in my life.
If any of the rebukes held water of course I would have paid attention.
