I know very little about a Canadian named Peter Youngren. I do know he has been on the fringes of pentecostalism for several years, makes big claims, and bills himself as an evangelist and healer.
Youngren applied to the CRTC for a licence for what is now called Grace Television Network in 2009. The CRTC approval is Gazetted here. He is affiliated with Open Bible Faith Fellowship which has been a registered charity since 1982. I’m puzzled as to why this fellowship would have a front man with so many personal problems which preclude people in most denominations from holding leadership positions. If you head out on forums, people who follow him are well aware of his latest affair with a worship leader and divorce proceedings from wife #2. They are aware he has made a lot of money overseas. Who is Youngren accountable too?
He has an organization called World Impact Ministries and a show called Celebrating Life with Jesus airing on Vision TV.
ChristianWeek was not able to get an interview with Youngren, and word is out Charisma Magazine in the US is going to being doing an investigative piece on Youngren. Moncton Metro News:
Christian Minister Peter Youngren who rakes in millions on TV from gullible donors, is leaving his second wife to marry a third and recently got a young lady in his ministry pregnant who was not his wife this has all been confirmed. Charisma Magazine is presently looking into all of this for those of you who do not believe that Peter could have done these things… nonetheless, he did and has not stepped to the plate to repent and is still seeking millions in donations from gullible Christians.
While we believe in restoration, we also believe that the ones being taken in by these wolves in sheep’s clothing are much more important than anyone’s “reputation”… to rebuke myself or anyone else for asking Peter to step down fro a time of restoration is ungodly and cruel to those who have lost finances that Peter has taken.
Some would say that such a minister should not be brought into the open as is now being done…however, had Peter acknowledged his moral failures there would be no need to go public.
ChristianWeek hit the proverbial brick wall:
I’ve been assigned to interview Youngren for ChristianWeek, but tracking him down proves more difficult than expected.
When I contact WIM, Thurber explains that Youngren is not available for interview personally as he is currently ministering in the U.S. I try again the following week, when he is in the office briefly, but Youngren is too busy with other obligations to take my call or respond to emailed questions. I try again, but the following week Youngren is off to Africa, where hundreds of thousands have attended his speaking events.
I find myself writing an article about a man’s personal vision without having discussed it with him personally which is hard, considering Youngren’s vision is to impact Christians across the country and shape our spiritual message to the world.
So I call three others in the Canadian Christian media, explaining the breadth of Youngren’s vision and ask if they have interviewed him about it personally; none have. The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada has heard of Youngren’s ministry, but have no comment to make.
Thurber points me to an exclusive article that ran in in Maranatha News in March. In it Youngren offers written replies to a list of questions.
I found a 2004 Marantha news interview with Youngren here and the March 2009 interview with Marantha is here.
Youngren runs World Impact Ministries. The ‘bible school’ which he runs does not appear to be accredited and the online fees are $170.00. This guy attended in person and spent 3500 dollars. Â Just about everything he offers is for sale, from books to tours to courses. He also runs a tour group to Israel called Way of Peace. I can’t figure out if the three churches he seems to be a part of in Southern Ontario called Celebration are run under the authority of Open Bible Fellowship or are independents. Two were registered in 1991 by Youngren, and one of his older sons resigned as a leader from the Toronto church the end of 2009. A daughter left World Impact Ministries.
He gets a mention in a 1993 article in the New York Times as founder of Moscow Christian Center, and appears to be your standard Word-Faith (prosperity) teacher. He still has a program on Vision TV.
His World Impact Ministries had assets of about 5 million in 2008 according to the tax return. It was registered in 1976.
Grace TV “Building your gospel voice to the world’ is a non-profit with grand plans. Most of the programming is prosperity gospel and New Apostolic Reformation. It is cross platformed into Facebook, Twitter, blog, mobile apps andÂsells merchandise, tours and conferences, as Youngren attempts to separate a new group of believers from their money.
It remains to be seen what Charisma magazine may say about him, it is not a magazine known for investigative articles. However if people inclined believe what they see as gospel are warned about another Canadian charlatan with personal problems, that’s a bonus.

To Kellie:
Don’t let these guys lure you into their trap.
They have no intrest in the Gospel or anything else relating to God.
They thrive in turning people away from God. If you check on the Internet you will see they have been doing this kind of stuff for years. Their whole goal is to defame people who are preaching the Gospel by bad-mouthing, smearing and discrediting that person to the best of their ability. Then they move on to the next person leaving good people like yourself perhaps even doubting your own relationship with God. I’m sure the devil is praising them for the good job they are doing.
In fact, Kellie, they manage to get even some good Godly people saying things about great men like Peter Youngren.
They are the kind that when there is not a preacher or evangelist to bash, they will go on the attack against each other.
Just look at the kind of demonic music they promote and the people they associate with on other sites. Who are they to be giving you advice on who you should listen to or support?
Just check some of these guys out and you will see for yourself.
Check their screen names and style of writing. It is very interesting.
The excuse they use of just wanting to be sure that unsuspecting christians don’t send their money to someone like Peter Youngren is bogus. They must think people like you are incapable of hearing God’s voice for yourself. I am certain that you can hear from God directly if He has something or someone to warn you about.
This kind of garbage is a mockery of God and of His servants.
IF Peter Youngren has done any of these things they are accusing him of then God is more than capable of removing him.
God must not be concerned about Peter Youngren or Peter would have been removed long before now IF he has been doing all the things these people say he has for supposedly so many years.
Kellie, have confidence in our God – don’t let these confidence-shakers hurt you.
Peter Youngren is preaching the TRUE Gospel not the kind of Legalism and man-made JUDGEMENTAL rules that keep us from having a TRUE relationship with our God.
Kellie and George,
Peter did do it. I was curious because a close friend supports him, and invited me to come hear him. I didn’t think it was appropriate to just believe rumors. I pestered both his assistant pastor and the pastor of the church bringing him in, and received confirmation from both of them. They both said he had repented. I personally think there should be more public openness if that is the case. The guy makes me respect Dick Deweert!
I also attempted to contact Peter Jr. to find out if his dad had repented. I was told to ask his father.
Bene – I had a friend check with his friend who works at Grace. Your suspicions are confirmed.
George:
Demonic Music George!, To some maybe but that depends who you are’tuned into’. Same goes with repentance!
Full repentance leaves no questions behind it, only confirmations.
When the Father takes the world from your heart then no amount of music, temptation, or hell can possess you. Freedom is then what you walk in.
When carnal attacks then somewhere there is a’loophole’ through which the enemy got in. In the carnal nature, then yes music can tempt and lure and entiice I agree, but when Jesus is the authority in your heart then nothing that mere man can do can penetrate your ‘well-being’ or steal it.
The carnal nature loves money, good times, food, in fact all the lusts that the world has to offer and more, try as he might though when Jesus was tempted by satan he said no no no and we have him to thank for those No’s that today that kind of allure we can be protected from.
Its everywhere I know, sometimes when I go into a department store with the music on loud I wonder if I am supposed to be dancing or shopping, thats mans David at work and the psychology of marketing at its finest. Combine that with feeling good and ‘looking’ good’ and the enemy can have a field day.
When I see young kids in the town all dressed up on a saturday night I don’t condem I just want that the carnal nature not get in the way so that they can enjoy themselves. Jesus does not deny us but loves us into a place where he can protect us and Peter isn’t there right now and maybe at this moment doesn’t want to be, Jesus is a gentleman and waits quietly untill we are ‘ready’ but then will give us a ‘push’ when we linger too long in a place of ‘nice’.
Really people, who are we, what is attempting to be accomplished here. Only God knows the heart and whether we have truly repented or not.
I’m not stamping approval on bad behaviour from myself or from anyone else. We are all accountable for our own actions, ultimately accountable to God for our actions.
God will not be mocked, For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. Whether it be good or bad…..
Jesus said.
Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone.
I definately am not the person to throw the stone, you?
Galatians 6:6-8 (Amplified Bible)
6Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support].
7Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked [a]by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and [b]that only is what he will reap.
8For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Hi George;
I’m not judging Peter, that’s not for me to do. But if someone is to be a
teacher of the Lord, should he or she not set themselves up as examples on how to live? Paul said once “Imitate me as I have imitated Christ” Again, I’m not judging Peter, but I don’t think I want to imitate his life style. George, if I was your daughter, I know those actions by me would break your heart. I’d be branded the town …. .
Peter does not like the Ten Commandments, and I understand why now. And if Peter’s lifestyle is suspect, are his teachings?
George, you sound like a nice man. I’m a “newbie” to the Bible and the Lord’s teachings, so I consider the Commandments alive and well.
So, please consider: Acts 24:14, Acts 28:23, Romans 2:13,
Romans 13: 8-10, Heb 8: 7-12, 1Cor 7:19, James 2:10-12, 1John 3:4,
4.22-24, 1John 5: 2-3, 2John 6, Rev 12:17, Rev 14:12, Rev 22:1
My Dad used to say, “If I ride (and he was Canadian) with Jesse
James, then I become Jesse James” Makes sense.
George, am I wrong here?
More than willing to learn! Anybody?
Kellie
Absolutely agree….Jesus says.
Matthew 22:37-40 (Amplified Bible)
37And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect).(A)
38This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment.
39And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.(B)
40These two commandments [a]sum up and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets.
________________________________________
If this is follwed the 10 commandments are all fufilled through these, love God, love your neighbour, love yourself.
We are all suspect, the word is the final authority. If we / they don’t line up to the word then it’s not an action that should be followed.
Eat the meat and spit out the bones.
Hi George, I’m back with a thought.
I just saw Tiger Woods on TV. Lets just say, Tiger goes to a
minister with his sex problems and finds out his minister is
involved in the same situation. What does that teach Tiger?
Or I’m a alcoholic or drug user and after service, my pastor
gets drunk or stoned?
Is it now all OK?
Is it a question of “Do as I say, not as I do”?
As a young person, can you see where I’m coming from?
Once again, George, you sound like a nice man,
What’s the answer?
kellie .. fact of the matter is we all fall short of the glory of god .
when the pharisees attacked the woman at the well Christ responded to them saying whatever one of you is without sin cast the first stone .
the beauty of the gospel is that we can go to God with our sins and our shortcomings , and he is faithful and just to forgive us . and to lead us into righteousness .
you will not find a man or woman alive today who in some form does not come short of righteousness apart from the son of God .
though the things being spoken of peter are of concern i would like to point out that he is one of a handfull of world class evangelists . more people have been healed through his ministry than the people in this room will ever admit or talk about .
ive seen truck loads of wheel chairs being taken from his meeting s .
and on numerous occasion s the blind and deaf have recovered .
its amazing in all of the comment s on this page that the only focus is peters troubles ……….. no mention of the millions of people he has told to READ THE BIBLE. no mention of the millions of people he has told to RELY ON JESUS.
just digging for his dark spots .
@Transitional “fact of the matter is we all fall short of the glory of god”
Can I encourage you to read your bible in context? According to the understanding I have, though I am open to correction, does your statement not only apply to “unbelievers” or those who aren’t “born again”? Once you are washed in the blood, you are to stop sinning, otherwise the sacrifice of Christ was of no effect and you are crucifying him again.
Anyone who uses the reasoning you have is only using it as an excuse to remain in the pathetic sinful condition they are in and a justification as to why they refuse to take up their own cross and expose/rebuke the charlatans with all authority. I challenge you, as Paul said, run the race and don’t look back. Oh, and if you find the finish line, let me know.
Hello Transitional Evangelist.
Once again, you sound most sincere.
Were the Scriptures I quoted wrong?
You help me, using Scriptures only please.
I’m young and I’m opinion full, but I can not argue
against the Bible, God’s Word.
Are the Scripture verses I sent earlier wrong?
You, I hope will help me.
And everyone here, teach me using Scripture!
Kellie
i hear what you are saying …
under ideal circumstances i would say that yes we are to NEVER SIN AGAIN ………….
do u know anyone who has never sinned again . i dont .
even paul .. well into his walk said clearly … that he does the things that he wishes not to do , and the things he wanted to do he left undone .
and looking at the author of hebrew s……… in saying ” therefore let us lay aside the sin which so easily ensnares us ……. (why would it so easily ensnare us if the writer was born again and ideally sin free)
my faith is based on the finished work of the cross . i believe that no matter the mistakes made that i am an adopted son of the king and though i may have some answers to give for some weak times in my life my adoption is secure
ideally i would go on to perfection . but if it is required of me to never make an error in order to qualify for salvation ….. or to never have a weak moment ….. or to never deny my faith as peter the apostle did ……. 3 times .. not once but three times …. (before being converted to a tee and to a point of laying the foundations of the church at large…. ) then i must say there is no hope for me or for you ……..or for anyman who even looks at a hooter girl .
tigers finished .. because even if he were born again today .. do you really think he ll never be tempted to think evil lustful thoughts again ……..
pauls famous words ………….oh wretched man that i am who will save me from this body of death
i assume you think i am making a huge case for sin here but i am not ……… i am laying the foundation for aiming as high as we can in walking in righteousness with understanding that no man and no thing will separate me from the fact that the bridge has been built across the great divide between man and God .
that there is a free and clear way to God . that if we do sin we have an advocate with the father , how much more so for those like peter youngren who have traded their lives of opportunity to run corporations in exchange for getting bombs thrown at them and bullets near missing them in the name of taking the gospel as he understands it to the nations .
Really transitional? Well I won’t re-invent the wheel. Check it out for yourself. The way followers of Christ were meant to be, through the finished work of the cross of course.
http://www.stopsinning.net/
marina . i think you likely misread the intent of my words if i must clarify let me know …
at no point am i saying that its ok to sin but i am saying that people are people . and have different seasons in their lives . some have more difficult seasons than others . and make wrong decisions .
i believe that for them it is the will of god for people to pray for them and restore them beofre it is his will for them to be cut off . or thrown away
Hello Transitional Evangelist.
I’m willing to learn.
Is there anything in your opinions
that might be backed up by Scripture.
most of what i have said is scripture without a scriptural reference number .
there is in scripture an ample amount of scripture available to condemn or justify a person .
it depends i think on the intent of the speaker . or preacher .
when i met Christ it was a powerful thing . and i came to know him as redeemer , not condemner.
i cant trust in him , and have walked in sins equal to or worse than peter youngren or any of the evangelists that the world cuts up these days .
the holy spirit faithfully brings me through my difficulties , i know that when i am weak . he is strong .
and that is motivation enough for me to believe the gospel . to trust in His destiny for my life . and to not fear when i face days of darkness .
i am learning who i am in HIM , and He is daily teaching me who He is in me
Hi Transitional Evangelist
That didn’t help me a bit.
I’m trying to learn from this site.
So is there anything in the above Scriptures
that I sent, that are wrong, please tell me!
Above all, see Matt 24:1-2, and hear it!
I never thought, that as a young woman,
I can get opinions, but no Scripture to back up
the same.
Tell me what you know, using the Bible to
back up the Truth!!
Do Well
kellie specifically what are you asking for scriptural backup for ?
which statements
Hello Transitional Evangelist.
Can I call you “TE”? It’s a lot easier.
T.E. are the Ten Commandments still
to be kept? It’s a yes or no question,
Well, Fire One
Hi “T.E.”
You know sad thing about all this is?
Peter is a bad man as the Bible has him.
And I will not hear from you and “George”,
when it comes to my question.
That’s sad when all I want to do is learn.
simple yes or no my foot
ive always looked at it this way …contrary to many churches .
part one
in christ we become partakers of the adoption .
we are adopted into the family . not because of what we have done but because he has signed the adoption papers in his own blood .
galatians 4 4-8 , romans 8 14 -17
so to start .. being in christ has more to do with what he has done than it does with what we have done.
part two
now that we have become partakers of a new household . it is fitting that we learn what the house rules are, and begin to abide by them.
many teach that the ten commandments were done away with .
i think that is erroneous . mostly because Christ teaches that they will never pass away matt 5 17 to 20
we know that in matthew 24 the love of many will grow cold . because of what … lawlessness .
we know that the coming of the anti christ will be according to the workings of what ….lawlessness .2 thessalonians
many teach that paul taught in galatians in trying to convey what it meant to be saved by grace that he was also teaching to no longer abide by the law ….
we know that in 2 peter 3 16 that pauls words in which there were many things hard to understand , that there were things that unstable untaught men twisted to their own destruction .. and the warning in 2 peter 3 17 is ..(in some translations ) do not be caught up in their lawlessness.
i cant say i keep them perfectly , but i can say that i recognize the house rules include the ten commandments . if not for the intent that we would keep them perfectly , then for the intent that we would understand our need of repentance and that they would be in front of us as a reminder of where the middle of the road is.
so in short …hehe .. yes i believe scripture intends that we live lives that do not as a habit smash the commandments.
(and if your wondering i think that includes the seventh day sabbath )
To all those who are coming to this site for the first time, I am sorry, as I am sure Bene is, that your suspicions about Peter are actually correct. It isn’t our intention to “be right”, and we don’t “get off” on knowing we are. At least I don’t.
Two nights ago I gathered all the letters I have ever received from Peter’s ministry… and burned them. Then I took one of the return envelopes, addressed it to Nathan, filled it with nails, then mailed it to him. Why? Because I’m done folks, absolutely done.
I, nor Bene are perfect, and we aren’t trying to gather some major folling and fleece your backs, however, Peter is, and you should be aware of that.
Love and respect,
Adam Josh Danyluck.
*following. 6 a.m folks, 6 a.m.
It should be noted that I am almost 98% sure that this “transitional evangelist” guy is in actuality Daryl Hansen, a business owner from Ridgeville, ON who loves Peter Youngren, and as I warned him and his wife, if you continue to mess with me I will call the police on you. You are not welcome here. Sorry Bene, but this has to come to an end. TE, if I am wrong, prove it. I am not hiding anymore, I am Adam Danyluck, and everyone can easily find that out.
this site has nothing to do with hiding .
im not messing with anyone , just bringing some balance to the one sided viewpoint that people here have of peters works in the past
but it s good that you have control over the internet.
It’s not just about Peter Youngren, it’s about the whole “church”. The bigger picture is that God is exposing the sin in the whole church in these days. Why? Because there is no repentance. He has been faithful to warn these people, I personally found out about someone who discerned Youngren’s sin and warned Him at least a couple of years ago, I don’t doubt he has been warned by others and in other ways as well. The Father is longsuffering and not willing to drag His children through the mud of public exposure, but when these leaders don’t heed His admonitions and warnings, He is left with no choice in His own integrity but to bring the sin and hypocrisy into the light. This is His body and He keeps His own word. And Jesus warned us that there would be a spewing out of His body the last days lukewarm (mixture) church – I really wonder if that isn’t what we are witnessing.
i would definitely say that i agree that the season is here for us to take repentance seriously for myself and many others who had been in the midst of half seriously serving the kingdom .
its amazing how easily we can be drawn aside by the trappings of sin.
My entire point of commenting on here is not about ignoring the issues people are raising concerning Peter , but to bring the other side of the coin… to bring some light to the good works he has done
I would hope that the people on here can honestly say they pray for him as much as they cut him down , this guy has taken the door of the kingdom to well over 80 nations .
theres gotta be , in the midst of all of this focus on his shortcomings , some room for honoring the service that he did for the kingdom.
i know that i myself and a few of the other people commenting on this site have done things as bad or worse than peter at his worst moments .
Just now went to read my bible and it opened at 2 Peter 2:1….
“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them – bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard) – if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment. This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority.”
This uncannily seems to fit the picture to a ‘T’, and I for one wouldn’t want to be found on the wrong side of the righteousness of God as He judges His church. Credit where credit is due – it is HE who is doing that judging.
Daryl, just like Peter, you have brought everything that is going to happen to you and your family on yourself, and I am truly sorry for you, to the point of tears right now.
I control the internet? Really? Do I look like google?
A LOT OF CAUTIONS FOR ALL THE REFEREES ON HERE JUDGING THIS MAN. I DO NOT DENY HE COULD HAVE MADE MISTAKES OR EMBARASSED HIMSELF, BUT, THE BIBLE SAYS THE FOLLOWING:
_____________________________________________________
Galasians 6:1:
New Living Translation (©2007)
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
————————————————————————————–
I do not know Peter, neither are you seeking his outright redemption, but a “got you” gospel which is inherently dangerous.
If this man is a false/fake, God is the judge, you can discern and make your own mind up not to follow him, but to BRING OUT THE SPEARS AND START PEIRCING – you surely will peirce your own self. God has not made you a judge.
Word of advice – Disregard him and move on if you doubt his substance! if you continually look for his downfall – YOU HAVE JUDGED YOUR OWN SELF
Disregard is possible when someone is not a public figure and you’ve had the opportunity to talk things out with them.
Someone who buys a TV station and preaches that people do what he says and not what he does is like saying to victims of crime – “shhhhh, don’t talk.”
I am judged, found wanting and forgiven. I am called to repent go and sin no more.
If repentance means I withdraw from public life, that’s what I would do.
If I was a teacher or preacher, I would step aside and get my own house in order.
I assume by substance you mean fruit.
This is about way more than public embarrassment Tony.
Peter Youngren has not been given some kind of special right from God.
The bible is also clear about that.
Hi Everyone! Wow, I’ve just read through all the posts. Alot of knowledge, passion & willingness to share and learn. I just came from Calgary to hear Peter preach. He shook my hand and touched my shoulder and said, “God bless you”. I felt God’s love through him. I am a survivor of sexual abuse and am 62 yrs. old. I am very sensitive to lust and such feelings, when I’m around men. None of these were felt from Peter. His past is his past, as I have mine…being on the frontlines in ministry, there are alot of temptations. We may fall for a time, but can repent and pick up and continue for Jesus. By perpetuating the gossip and judging, not the exposure of lies and the truth – there is a difference, we just dig our own pit. Also, sometimes my human issues make me abreact instead of respond to present situations. Check yourselves for that. Forgive Peter, Jesus already has and is currently. Love in Christ to you all.
Hi Sunny Dade:
I’m sorry to read you were abused, and glad to read you now see yourself as a survivor.
Do you believe the things listed are just gossip?
Would you be able to show us which facts are incorrect?
Not feeling lust from someone isn’t about what they’ve done or not done.
As for forgiving Peter, that is an issue for those he has harmed.
The issue I’m concerned with is the purchase of a TV station.
While it is not registered as a charity, it is there to get money from the public.
Sunny Dade, reading your comments made me want to try to kick my own face. Which would be about as profitable as listening to Peter’s “God Bless You”. If all you are after is love – which seems to be all Peter is after – you could just get a dog, or some real friends that won’t try hanky-panky with you.
This isn’t PAST – as many keep saying – this is now, here and now. If you really did in fact read all the posts, you’d be aware of that. Unless the past for you is every second that isn’t right now. In that case, I don’t really want to have any more conversations with you.
I respect you, which is why I am telling you this. Save your money, you don’t need a Pastor, no matter how many kids and wives and ministries he has, to tell you about God’s love. Even if you enjoyed him touching your shoulder – as you felt need to mention.
We all need to repent. Sooner than later.
I would have rather Bene of had that last word on this, as it was priceless and to the point. Unfortunately Bene, Peter keeps preaching, keeps on going, and keeps wooing people the world over with his “grace” and “love”. You are all duped in the worst way. The final few nails in this coffin are; Peter Celebrates Christmas, Easter, serves WIBI students pork, calls his Messiah after Zeus (HailZeus), doesn’t stop breaking commandments, and teaches others to do the same, can’t actually get a soul converted to actually LOVE YHWH and His Torah – not that I have seen yet… and can’t seem to get his own house in order. Even the devil can “love”. Satanists “love”. Mormons sure as heck “Love”. Love, as is preached by Peter… holds very little meaning.
Please leave me alone about this matter from now on, as I bear in my body the marks of my sincerity, and honesty.
Finally, read the bible cover to cover and THEN talk to me. How insulted do you think YHWH would be if He bent over backwards trying to give you the “manual for life” and you still hadn’t done anything but read a verse here, a verse there? Oh, that’s right – He DID, and most of you HAVEN’T.
Sigh.
Adam,
What Sunny Dade, experienced was the “Christ in you’ in Peter. You must separate Peter from the ‘Christ in Peter’. One thing you have to admit about Peter, even though he might have some serious shortcomings, he is an extremely willing vessel to have the Holy Spirit manifest through him. Many people have been very blessed, like Sunny Dade, to have experienced the love of Jesus thru Peter.
For your information:
“Love” as definded by Mr. PY includes the following:
-deserting his second wife, because of possible relationship with his new secretary brought in from outside the country
-highjacking his sons church TICC after loosing his own church NCC
-spreading slannder and lies about previous church / WIM worker
by mail to thousands of people around the country
-loosing his relationship with his children because of his actions
-loosing his credentials in 2007 with OBFF – which is a a Canadian Ordaining body called Open Bible Faith Fellowship.
-intimidating and manipulating workers
-and the list goes on and on and on….
IT’S TIME TO WAKE UP EVERYBODY!
Wow…I have been wondering for years when all of this would come to the publics attention. I have read through all of the posts and can confirm that all of the accusations are 100% correct. I also chuckle at the dribble of some of the believers “don’t judge” “we all sin” “love him and forgive him” “he that is without sin be the first to cast the stone”…nonsense! I have been around this ministry since the beginning and watched as sheep were lead to the slaughter time and time again. I know all of the players involved by name and unfortunately it is the innocent that are hurting while the big blond swede continues his rampage. I will continue to follow the blog and comment when I have something to say. Does everyone know that PY writes an article for the St. Catharines Standard every week or so on various teachings? Unbelievable. Just another one to add to the list Liardon, Baker, Swaggert, Haggard, youngren and on and on the list goes…Never mind all of the so called ministers that graduated out of Peters school that committed the same sin.
I have known him for over 20 years…just before the school….starting the school, just after he was married to Roxanne and even then although not talked about, he was giving googly eyes even then to women. Stephanie was just born. Sad! So these girls that he ended up with and he looked upon were not the first…..they were just the weakest in faith as they gave in to what was not right.
He was so passionate when Word Explosion (the predays before Word of Life Church opened)….we want that man back. A man so dedicated to God.
He was hurt by his 1st wife who was a lesbian and left him for another woman and now he hurt his his second wife by doing the same thing, leaving her for another woman – how ironic. He once commented he was looking for a mother for his children because he was always traveling with his ministry. Hmmm was it true love or conveince as he did seem to stray over and over??
This man has defiantly stray from God’s plan, no doubt about that. But seriously he had an anointing that was soooo strong. If he was smart, he would leave women all together and just stay single the rest of his days. Not to mention the girl he left Roxanne for is not even pretty and looks old. What was he thinking?
I was close to Jonas (his dad) a seriously devoted christian….wonder what he would say or think right now. I can guarantee there is much sadness as he looks down knowing he may never see him. I remember there once was a guy working for his ministry who was a con man. Peter was so worried how it would effect the people in his ministry who had been involved with him as he had hired him not knowing it. Wonder if Peter wonders how he is effecting people too…..or do we only wonder when it is someone else.
I don’t want to see Peter back in the preaching seat….but I do want to pray for him to turn his ways so he can still have a chance to get into heaven. As for the board…..take from someone who was close enough to the scene. Peter has always stacked the boards with close friends or relatives. He once said that was the way no one could touch you. They have ALWAYS been spineless “yes men”…..don’t kid yourself that anything has changed. He is very smart and tends to pick people who are name droppers and want to be near him and the status or saying they are on a “board”.
Hoping for the best in the end. He is a good guy….sadly just turned into a bad egg.
My thoughts are with his kids….must be hard to go through this again.
All these pointless arguments and cherry picking re-interpreted bible verses reminds me of trying to exterminate a house full of cockroaches! Get one, and out comes another, get him and here come the rest!
Jake, you just can’t stop can you? You can’t actually bring your mind to admit that you, or Peter is in the wrong. I can, and if I was wrong about Peter, then I would admit it. Oh, that’s right – I paid him $4,000 dollars thinking he’d teach me the ways of “God” back in 2001. MAN was I wrong. See? I just admitted I am wrong. Can you?
This cherry-picking “christ in you” nonsense will just keep continuing for another millenia won’t it? Christ in you? Really? Really? How many times have you read the bible friend? I mean… you are entitled to your opinion and all, and I definately do NOT think I am better than you as a person or anything, but you are flat out deceived about this issue, this man, and your “christ in you”.
Absolute nonsense. Balaam’s donkey ( http://www.biblenews1.com/balaam/balaam.htm ) must have had “christ in you” right? So… a donkey can preach the word of YAH – so I guess the donkey isn’t a donkey anymore, it’s a pastor now? No, it’s a DONKEY that YHWH caused to talk. Let’s worship the burning bush too while we’re at this “christ in you” theology.
Seriously everyone. Stop making excuses for this charleton and let the pieces fall where they may. Your willingness to excuse him only reflects on your own attitude about your own sin. And despite what you may think, Pebblezeus Preacher (my nickname for Peter, since real names obviously don’t matter to most of you, or him) HASN’T repented of anything. He wouldn’t even know where to start. I’m not sure he even knows what repentence is. And I pray right here and now that YHWH grants TRUE repentence to Peter, not just for his sake, but for the sake of all the ruined lives coming out of his “flock”, for his family, and so that future generations can look back and realize that he truly WAS a decent man.
Tell me Jake, what is the Holy Spirit to you? Prove it with bible verses please. What does the Holy Spirit do?
I think you are confusing stage lights, cameras, social pressure, mood music, and a tall blonde sweedish businessman/rockstar for “christ in you”. Who is Christ? What do you mean by Christ?
So Bene, a little advice please… do I just keep going back and forth with every new person that shows up here with a new twist of cherry-picked excuses for Peter deserting his wives, kids, and family, for his frauds, money schemes and flat out lies? Like, when is enough enough? Do you ever close the comments on here? I mean, everything that needs to be said was said 50 comments in. Just my opinion.
Peter Youngren also made a deal for Grace TV with Shaw Digital TV.
It will be carried on ch 166.
Would I be overstepping my mercy by asking everyone who is offended by Peter to write to Shaw and express your concerns with them carrying his station?
The Miracle Channel’s overage has been minimized by this exact action.
“overage” should read “coverage”… Now I’m suffering from Howie syndrome!
I like Tim’s idea.
Also, I think everything that needs to be said about “Peter Youngren – running out of grace?” has been said.
Great blog Bene, great comments everyone.
Thank you all for being a part of something most so-called “leaders of faith” don’t seem to have the spine for these days.
Take care everyone. I’m moving on.
To Adam’s suggestion that this blog be closed I would suggest that there are some open views being expressed here that are important.
Given the debacle at UOA last evening and the consequent cancellation of a planned speech by an outspoken American lady my tuppence worth is that if we value freedom of speech among us as people of Faith then we ought to allow each other the opportunity to hear – not only with our ears but with our hearts.
There is a difference between gossip, expressing a variety of views that we may or may not agree with and sounding the alarm. All of these and more are apparent in this blog thread. Through it all we need to discern and hear.
There is not just one watchman or woman sounding the alarm here but many.
A shepherd tends to and protects his flock. When a wolf harms the sheep the shepherd ought to act protectively and by all means available.
It appears as if the situation here is that the shepherd has become the wolf and the sheep have had enough.
Question for “Over 20 years” (post 136). You wrote: “Not to mention the girl he left Roxanne for is not even pretty and looks old. What was he thinking?” So, in your opinion it would have been better if Mr. Youngren had left his wife for some gorgeous 18-year old? Is that a Christian view? (Besides, though it is many years since I last saw Taina in the real world, she still looks OK on my TV.)
While I’m speaking: another person, Adam Danyluck, accused Mr. Youngren of celebrating Christmas and Easter, and of serving pork to his guests. Most Christians do these things, and consider Christmas and Easter the holiest times of the year. Why shouldn’t he?
Hey Rev….
Typical church, no wonder so many people do not want anything to do with the “church” at large. Let’s slaughter all the wounded. The strong shall survive. I bet you spent your whole life in the walls. How about we speak healing over the body of Christ vs slaughter. We all know these actions are wrong.
Hey Adam, I appreciate everything you are saying and you are bang on. I also wasted $4000. Just a note regarding this blog…KEEP IT OPEN…there are many more out there that need this forum to speak their mind. So many live in fear and continue to be be intimidated by PY and in my opinion they have been waiting for a place to share. I to am sick of hearing those that want to let this go and just sweep it under the carpet. Too many lives have been detroyed, families torn apart, and trust compromised to just let it go. If we shut this down it will just go away and he will continue to decieve the masses. I think the longer this thing keeps going the better. It’s time for PY to face the piper!!!
To clarify,
I never said that Bene should close his blog. I said the comments on this particular thread could be closed, seeing as how everything that needs to be said already has been.
I have to stop checking back here I guess, because somehow I just keep getting roped back into conversations! People taking me out of context, or taking me the wrong way, it’s like a church meeting!
To Hiski, Peter only claims to be a christian around christians. REV knows what I am saying, and it’s a whole other can of worms to get into, one which I would rather not. Bene, there’s an idea for a new blog – what faith is Peter Youngren? I have publicly – in person – heard Peter say ” I am not a christian”.
As someone rightly said before – this guy is about as easy to nail to a wall as jell-o.
Long story short, he has WAY more issues than this one thread covers, and I’m not here to dig up all the dirt I can on him, if that was the case, I’d be writing books, not 4 paragraph short-essays.
Seriously though, my e-mail is adam(at)damdanyluck(dot)com and I really am trying to leave this thread and move on, so everyone, please respect that. This isn’t just fun and games to me, I was there, I know the people who are hurt, I know the divorces, I know the money wasted, and it’s nothing to joke about. Maybe in another 20 years.
Take care !
Hi Adam: I changed your email addy so spam bots don’t pick it up. Trust me, there are two filters on this blog for good reason.:^) – BD
I felt it was time for a mother to speak up….my son attended Word of Life for 10 years, WIBI (Bible College) for 2 years….when he finally realized that he was being had, he was so emotionally drained, emotionally damaged and angry with the disappointments, lies and all of the broken promises. PY did such a number on our son that it literally took years of wise counselling, love and patience for us to deal with our son.We were left to pick up the pieces of his shattered life and dreams of full time ministry within this organization. Today, he thanks God every day that he left that church and has moved on with his life…
He was one of many godly, young men that were used to further the ministry and then thrown away when someone more “gifted”came along.
As far, as the tithing and bible school tuition goes, I feel there should be a Class action lawsuit against this man. He has used ministry money to purchase real estate. He is extremely wealthy today (millionaire many times over!) because of the tithings of the trusting souls in his clutch.
Do not shut this blog down….I finally feel that PY’s day of reckoning is near….
I can’t really blame him for being born into a churchian power family anymore than I can blame myself for being born into an abusive family, but I can only imagine the high expectations that would put on him. I won’t comment on the many unfortunate things I’ve heard from those who were under him as I have no legal proof of them, but I will comment on what I personally witnessed as a member of his church/bridal college 5 years ago and let you take it for what it’s worth. There were powerful church families there and I mostly remember them being obsessed with looking good and hiding their problems behind big fake smiles and/or ministries. I got the impression that one got treated differently if they weren’t from one of these families, but I digress for the sake of remaining on topic. I did see him sell booklets to a crowd of poor villagers during a “gospel festival” overseas, which I thought at first were free. I also saw him stepping down, and remember a vaguely worded apology with nothing admitted to specifically. He then proceeded to go into 3 whole months of “extensive counselling” only to return by saying that somebody in a small church in a small town in Texas had a “prophetic word” that he shouldn’t step down. Anyway, that was 5 years ago and around the time I left. Unlike most at the time, I left due to do doctrinal issues more than the scandal. As a Messianic/Nazarene, I do find the vast majority of his teaching to be disturbing. I sincerely doubt the Father would annoint anyone to encourage people to read bible translations that promote fake/pagan names and lawless living, but that’s just my opinion.
I say this NOT to judge the man nor do I seek to live in the past, but because as so many of you have pointed out; there is biblical criteria for what a spiritual leader should be and if that’s violated then that’s serious. Also, I’m not claiming to be perfect. I’ll save you the trouble of slinging mud at me and fess up to just a few things here: I’m addicted to being lazy, I fear my violent sister beating me down again and I suck at picking up the girlies. Now go look in the mirror and see your imperfections, I’ll wait here with some pop and chips…
Peters ‘vessel’ it seems has played host to quite a number of guests!, infidelity being one of them lies and cheating ‘a few more’, Now tell me how can infidlity reside in the same ‘vessel as the ‘holyspirit’ and ‘perform miracles’at the same time as sleeping with a variety of women
