Faytene Kryskow, the noted Canadian youth-oriented evangelist that we have blogged about recently, is getting a little notice south of the border.
Charisma magazine has her as the 20th of their “21 Emerging Leaders of Tomorrow’s Church”
Writes Charisma:
Faytene Kryskow
Revivalist
Canadian speaker Faytene Kryskow has spearheaded movements to train intercessors and influence her nation’s political system. In 2008, she led the largest-ever pro-life gathering in Canada at Parliament, and she oversees TheCRY, an interdenominational prayer and fasting movement. She says current world events are so intense that believers can’t be going about business as usual: “We have to be sensitive to the times and what the Lord wants us to do.†Author of a best-selling book, Stand on Guard, Kryskow also launched MY Canada to give young adults a voice in Parliament and has used it to organize more than 500 meetings with political leaders. “God has rolled out the red carpet for us to speak.â€

Charisma sees her as a ‘revivalist?’
500 meetings with political leaders and she is not registered as a lobbiest – I sincerely hope faith groups in Ottawa don’t get themselves burned by association.
Silly statement to have in a US magazine with the Jaffer issue going on and a political book with Ms. Kryskow in it next week.
Since when did Charisma know anything.
That phrase, “meetings with 500 leaders”, is probably badly written and therefore misleading. I could imagine she’d meet several MPs or Senators at a time and adding on the other visits, the number could reach 500.
That figure allows for double or treble counting, i e, some MPs or Senators were multiple visitors.
As for “largest pro-life gathering in Canada”. I wonder how diligent the research was in validating that claim.
Maybe Charisma magazine is repeating what’s fed to it.
If that’s the case, the magazine has little credibility.
Reading Charisma magazine and about on-line has it’s critics.
Faytene’s statement “Sensitive to the times and what the Lord wants us to do”
“God has rolled out the red carpet for us to speak”
What she says and how she sais things is interesting.
How does she know that ‘God has rolled out the red carpet for us to speak’ ?
A person at my church who likes the Charismatic movement has met persons who feel they are Apostles.
She sais, “I’ve met people who claim to be Apostles but The Bible sais, ‘You know them by their fruits’, and I don’t see fruits in them”
I’ve met Faytene Kryskow and sense something strange about her.
As far as fruits of the spirit is concerned like love, etc from Faytene, well……what does the bible say?
God is the judge.
The Bible is the word of God.
Faith, Hope, Love
The greatest of these is Love
But by grace we are saved through Faith
The Gifts of the Spirit are mentioned in the bible too.
The book of Corinthians is very good in mentioning spiritual gifts.
“Charisma sees her as a ‘revivalist?’”
Yes, that would be a reasonable adjective, although I’d probably give it a revivalist/activist hybrid. The Cry events would be within the broad definition of “revival” as used in charismatic circles.
Faytene claims she was “miraculously” healed of autoimmune hepatitis in 2000. Has anyone ever verified this information or has she ever provided medical verification to be examined by the public?
As one of the “emerging” leaders, it would sure suck for her if it were found out that this claim was not true. On the other hand, if it is true, it may add some credibility.
Faytene, if you still read this blog (which I have no doubt you do), maybe you could provide definitive medical proof to eliminate any speculation or doubt.
Well, even if they want to call her a revivalist, there seem to be false revivals and true – the true revivals are rare and precious occurrences and many are they who run to the false ones, running after signs, wonders and miracles while repudiating the message of the cross. Jesus called such a generation wicked, and he had crowds running after his signs and miracles for a little while.
What is a “revivalist”?
Good question.
Traditionally it’s a noun and an adjective.
1. (Christianity / Ecclesiastical Terms) a person who holds, promotes, or presides over religious revivals noun
2. a person who revives customs, institutions, ideas, etc
adj
(Christianity / Ecclesiastical Terms) of, relating to, or characterizing revivalism or religious revivals a revivalist meeting
revivalistic adj
In neo-charismatic dominionist beliefs (which Ms. Kryskow holds) neo-charismatic beliefs on revival are gnostic (man centered) and a revivalist is tasked as a leader.
I suggest googling NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) Latter Day Rain, Joels Army, Dominionism, the 7 mountain mandate, Third Wave, neo-charismatics and neo-pentecostalism. The orthodox understanding of the word’ revivalist’ took on different meaning for around the 1970′s as aberrant doctrines began to coalesce.
Traditional Christianity recognizes revival, movements of God throughout history, first to the body of Christ (renewal).
Revival is also a term used for meetings or series of meetings with evangelistic purpose – rooted in American protestantism.
Revivalist is now part of the loaded language in neo-charismatic and neo-pentecostal milieu control and is another word whose meaning has been hijacked from orthodox and historical Christianity.
Look at how many times the word is used at Charisma Magazine

Faytene is a ‘revivalist’.
Because she says she is.

Re: Ms. Kryskow (man centered)
Interesting information as to where she’s at and how it manifests itself in her actions and words
