Faytene Kryskow adds a cup of “martyr” to the mix

You can’t fault evangelist Faytene Kryskow for not knowing the ways of the media, even if they technically aren’t “allowed” to cover her without first asking “Mother, may I?”

Want to bury something? Release it on or just before a holiday weekend. And it is the Victoria Day stat holiday up here in Canada.

She has a notice up on the front page of her website. It reads like this:

Regarding the Armeggadon Factor by Marci Macdonald: I was going to post a video regarding AF because it was in my heart to pray for Marci and video is a great way to spread that love. I was also considering addressing some of the errors, biases an misrepresentations in her book, however, the national media seems to be addressing them pretty well on their own with the many articles being posted exposing this. There is no need for me to add my voice to the mix. I do want to say however, “Bless you Marci and bless you Random House. God’s love for you fills us and we do pray for you to be lead into that love, sincerely.”

If she doesn’t want to respond, that’s her business. But if she wants to take the high road, why not only pray for McDonald and the publishing company in a video and leave it at that?

The Faytene brains trust has probably decided this about Marci McDonald’s book. Progressives in the regular media who would like the book would probably not like Kryskow anyway. It can be made much more difficult to allow them to get things that will help them with their stories by using Faytene’s media rules against them. And those conservatives in and out of the media who find Faytene’s theocratic extras to not be a problem? Well, they are probably listening to the various conservative critiques of the book, so much so, that it all is discredited to them.

As long as Faytene’s support base on Parliament Hill and elsewhere is not paying attention to the book, a blanket “This book is hooey” as Faytene has posted would work fine. “Let sleeping dogs lie, for who wants to rouse ‘em.”

I, however, would have liked to see a detailed response from Faytene Kryskow myself. About a tenth of The Armageddon Factor is devoted to her alone, and if she had been able to cite 20-30 factual errors of the sort we are keeping track of in our special post, it would be helpful for allowing more neutral observers to judge the veracity of the book.

If someone were to say “Do you have a list of these errors? Please pass it on to me, so that I can use it to decide for myself how good the book is,” what would she say? It would be a good idea for her to have one ready, as reporters are going to start using the book, or McDonald, in stories about her.

There is one regrettable feature of her statement though. Now she can use it to say that she is not commenting on the book or McDonald at all. And the regrettable thing about that is that McDonald cites some things that the average person might be wondering about.

Faytene’s statement may fool people into thinking that everything about her in the book is incorrect when it may not be.

And Faytene may never apologize for some things that she has apparently done in public that McDonald reports, such as using the infamous “Hitler youth analogy” sweeping it under the rug of “The entire book is bad!”

“Pay no attention to the youth evangelist behind the curtain. I am OZ!”

Do you know what really gets to me the SANCTIMONY; the prayer comes across as more like a threat than hope and full to the brim of so much sanctimony it made me feel sick!. The response failed to impress because it was not so much a response as a ‘cop out’!. A bible based, word based, and not much ‘love based or jesus based comment that rolls of the tounge with such ease its almost scary and thats what’s so frightening about some of these people, it just rolls of the tounge without touching the heart or mind of the saviour yet floats of into the ether with his ‘name tag on it!

    Shallow

Sorry but RED ALERT REALITY CHECK REQUIRED HERE

When nestled in the saviours heart you are never at a loss be it for words, depth or meaning, insight, wisdom, or a higher knowledge of the discerning of the creative forces good/or bad at work in any given circumstance, situation or action.

Ever so nice just doesn’t cut it with me! I’ve seen too many times just what lays hidden behind words……………….. generally its a mind not a heart, and the mind can be ever so calculating!and not always ‘gifted’

The Hill Times has an article titled: Faith becoming a ‘powerful political force’ say Crowley.

In it, Brian Rushfeldt (Charles McVety’s buddy of the Canada Family Action Coalition, states Christians are being singled out (the persecution theme is second nature) and that Christians have a right to lobby.

Yes, they do, when they are registered same as other lobbyists.
He is clear about where he stands as someone more more aware than Kryskow.

    Faytene is not.
She brags about her prayers, (not her former bulimia/anorexia) extreme fasting etc. Rushfeldt:

“I’m not going to contribute to singling out Christian organizations for a story, because if you want to talk about lobbying then talk about everybody that lobbies, and he refused to talk about his meetings and access with government officials.”

Ms. Kryskow said on her Facebook page:

“Faytene Kryskow Too amazing not to post.
Ezra Levant is one of the coolest people I have watched in action. Thank you for Ezra Levant.”

She sees herself as an extreme prophet, political activist, visionary and evangelist, she claims to have been healed by Todd Bentley from an incurable illness and helped he her reject voodoo curses he said had been placed on her life. She genuinely neo-charismatic beliefs and told Lloyd Mackey at Candian Christianity she doesn’t even know what dominionism is. She claims she doesn’t hang out with NAR peddlers, (New Apostolic Reformation) and can’t explain her theological embracing and teaching of what pentecostals and charismatics identify as heresy.
(BDBO has written about that previously)

Page: 162, Marci McDonald: “When I asked to attend one Siege, she explained that the presence of a journalist would inhibit her attendees, interfering with their unbridled worship experience, but there seemed to be more to her objections.”

(BDBO prior comments from Kryskow attempt to explain her media paranoia and media control issues)

Page 162 McDonald – “Later, when she noticed that I had purchased CD’s of one such event from 4MyCanada’s booth at a conference she snatched them from my hands. “I don’t want you to have those,” she said, returning my 20 dollar bill to me.”

Her website statement is a vague threat, responding to critics factually, none-piously and without hubris and judgement is not part of her dominionist/nationalist theocratic beliefs.

Marci McDonald, you, I others, are not Christians to her and her friends, a fringe group well laid out in the book.

Kryskow’s passive aggressive piety and pride is all she has and knows; and I think she really believes people will not notice her lack of substance, as Rick states.

“Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you. [1 Peter 3:15]”

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, … and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, Romans 13:15″

It’s easier to put up a very strange statement on one of her webpages.

Kryskow is not a registered lobbyist, I want to know why her Hill security pass has not been yanked. As Canadian politicians discuss terrorism and Canadian security, who gave her that access and why are Parliamentarians not demanding answers and Parliament security responding?

  3. Rick Hiebert says:

It’s interesting that Garth Turner agrees with Marci McDonald’s political appraisal in his book from last year, Sheeple.

The Hill Times story mentions that.

  4. Bene D says:

Turner was up against it with McVety’s political interventions and lays events out clearly in his book.

McVety, Ben-Ami, Thomas, Finley, Keene – the lot of them went after that riding with co-ordinated effort.

The smear and discrediting tactics by McVety’s crowd and some The Conservative Party people were classic.

Page 96 Sheeple. Turner acknowledges that in 2006:

“…my ignorance of Charles McVety surely accelerated a chain of events that would lead to my party, or what my party had become, rejecting me as threat from within.”

Like McDonald, Turner made it clear he has no beef with Christians, like McDonald he was targeted and attacked by certain groups of evangelicals as a Christian hater.

  5. Hopesome says:

Yet one more element of some ‘christians’ , that makes my blood boil – pull out the persecution card –

It shows me yet more lack in their ability to be able to take any of the flack they so readily ‘hand out’……… and goes into a LETS HIDE BEHIND JESUS mode in order to delfect that inability and therefore show’s me that their JESUS is not quite up to it and therefore that a counterfeit is possibly at there ‘beck and call’ only and has fallen short of the insight, wisdom, and knowledge that was required – yet again……………

Its so easy to ‘hide’…………… in Jesus ………..isn’t it!

Smarmy, sychophants and their false humility have turned the name of JESUS into a mockery and government will end up the same if its allowed to go on in the ‘name of their Jesus instead of the reality of the real JESUS ……………

What would they do without ‘his name’ to ‘fall back on’, when its the only thing propping them up!!!

  6. John Payzant says:

If Faytene Kryskow ‘adds a cup of martyr to the mix’ might be because she’s convinced and believes believes she’s a martyr.

    or

To make use of the term ‘Martyr’ to benifit herself could be the case.

    She is an interesting person

What she is doing is interesting.

She’s not the only one though is part of a fairly large group

I feel she doesn’t like anybody looking at her too closely nor do any of her allies.

If anybody does, they can become quite wrathfull because it blows their New Apostolic Reformation cover

The new scapegoat for this is Marci McDonald.

    There probably will be more.

  7. Sherm says:

In defense of Faytene if she suffered from an incurable disease and Todd Bentley healed her then is she really healed? I thought that was God’s job.

Perhaps it affected her brain, which is why she believes she is not passive aggressive in her prayers.

She even believes she is a real lobbyist.

Then there is the anorexia thing. Serious damage there. That is usually dealt with in therapy and recovery is tenuous at best.

God is not mocked. She has sown and reaped nonsense and harm. A serious individual cannot take her seriously or, unfortunately, lightly.

  8. John Payzant says:

    Reply 7 Sherm

Whomever is healed is done according to the

    will of God.

The will of God is by God.

God can heal through one person to another using one as an

    instrument to the other.

If God willed can use Todd Bentley as an instrument to heal

    Faytene Kryskow.

But God healed through Todd Bentley to Faytene Kryskow.

From all the reading and thinking I’ve done about all of this it

seems that both Todd Bentley could have a good amount of issues

in their roots that have rippled down to them.

Also, a certain amount of this could come from decisions made on

their own accord in their lives only

    Exodus 20: 5 KJV

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I,

the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the

fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of

    them that hate me;

The thing is, that a certain amount if not all from one degree to

another can have a number of issues in our roots.

These kind of things can take a long time to get in and can take a

good amount of work and time to get them out.

To start with though, the person -has to admit that those things

are there- followed by the healing and reconciliation process.
