The Benny Hinn and Paula White affair rumour story is starting to move slowly in the media.
If you came here through a Google search, by the way, I suggest that you please scroll back a couple of days and read Bene D’s fine posts since Friday when the story broke. I also tried to quickly analyze the actual National Enquirer story, hard copy at hand, on Saturday.
The Toronto Star, which might have pipped the Enqurier at the post to break the story in the secular media, followed it up with a little joke at the evangelist’s expense.
About an hour ago, the Christian Broadcasting Network reported on the story, with the lede that Hinn and White were denying the rumoured affair. (I predict that the denial of the affair will give the media the newspeg that they need to back into reporting the story. Expect more stories now.)

Newspapers in Sweden, according to Google Sweden, have not picked up on the Hinn-White story. In something of more concrete significance in the long term, they have picked up on a theological critique of Hinn at the conference he is attending, which Bene D explains quite well in this post from earlier today. Hopefully the whirlwind from the affair will pick up this sort of thing too.
My guess…reporters learned of this this morning, are working their phones today, and we’ll start seeing stories on Tuesday.
My second guess…Oprah will “libel chill” the current top National Enquirer story and the tabloid’s editors are now beating in the bushes in an attempt to make Hinn and White a top story for their next issue.
I have been wondering where that procedure originated from – The give us you money so that we can go out into all nations and bless them ! Well how many of us daily go out into all nations – ALL OF US; – How many gift a coin to the street people as we pass by; A GOOD MAJORITY OF US – How many of us heal someones hurt or grief with a word or deed – ALL OF US – How many of us demand they pay $’s £’s for the service of a loving word a kind deed, a noble gesture, a helping hand, and help with the mortgage ! I wonder is it us who are chosen and they not !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jesus can surely raise up those that walk in humility among the nations ie; us – in order that our giving is literally among them daily hourly and with a hope that no reward is necessary and no thanks demanded either from them or us – Africa has many who are willing to share their hope so what is stopping them – their dependency on the likes of the Evangelical ‘ loud’ voices of others who prolclaim (the glory for themselves!) follow me —————– He shall move governments we are told – they in their control leave us with little –
I think we are good and great and they have in some cases stolen our ability to know that – When I was down who came to lift me up, ‘actually’ those who went to JOB ‘ oh get on with it, what are you talking about, don’t be ‘pathetic’, that they killed my heart at that moment was their will, what restored it was his, I knew who my saviour was at that moment and I will hang on to his hope and good name with all my heart just as he did mine.
They will not take his name, beauty or healing and turn it into a side show
if we love each other then we are at one with each other and know in our hearts the grief and hurt of each other and with all of his and all of ours together we shall overcome the need of each other.
I think we are wonderful – The todds and bennys and the likes of this world tend to think they are – Now lets go out into the nations and say ‘ I count’ but the dollars in my pocket don’t – I can because he is taking care of everything and I just need to take my daily walk and make it count – and anyway I may look rough today but who cares – is what really counts
