Don’t question Faytene Kryskow

I’ve had a couple of interesting emails from a couple of people who find asking Faytene Kryskow a question on her public Facebook page doesn’t get a friendly response.

My daughter, who is 19, has been trying honestly engage Faytene  regarding Faytene’s frequent facebook statuses.

Usually Faytene answer’s Joanna’s comment  (not always in a wise and considered fashion) and then seems to have second thoughts and  deletes both the question and response.

Joanna tried to capture a discussion earlier this evening, but the comments disappeared mere moments after Faytene’s response; which prompted Joanna’s next question.

Some of us are intuitively curious and engage others by asking questions. What I find interesting is that Joanna’s questions are open. Sometime it isn’t the questioner, it is the person being questioned.

Faytene Kryskow is very media adverse and perceives any kind of question as threatening.
Faytene’s responses can be, um interesting. You get flattered and slammed, often in the same sentence.  There have been a few of those exchanges here at BDBO, and I gave up. There is deflection, accusations and the conversation becomes circular. I don’t really care, passive aggressiveness isn’t a leadership trait. All anyone can do when confronted with passive aggressive patter is call double bind no win; but it continues to strikes me as odd that someone who portrays themselves as interested in young people misreads sincerity so badly. Faytene moves in a sub-culture with it’s own language that most of us (I say this as an evangelical) find quite foreign. The other day on Ms. Kryskow’s Facebook page she  talked about ‘transitioning’ her home. I had to ask a friend what the heck that meant.  We still aren’t sure. The sub-language of a group is used to exclude or include; sadly quite effectively in some religious circles. Ms. Kryskow moves in a religious climate where leadership is not questioned, authoritarianism is considered godly and blind obedience is not optional. Public figures have a responsibility to be clear about what they say and how they say it, most of us understand that avoidance of double speak is an asset, not a liability.

You indeed are a work of art. It is clear you have a great call on your life :) .

Since you have posted this publicaly on my wall, instead of messaging me privately, I will respond here :) .

For months you have posted things on my wall that have been rude, bitter, critical and dishouring. There is a big difference between someone who asks a honest question and someone who is just looking for anything to jump on. You have proven yourself to be the latter, rather than an honest seeker who is asking questions with a sincere heart….or in a tone that actually allows for true discourse instead of high schoolish banter.

You apparently are offended with God or with me. For any way I have offended you I am sorry and unaware. For any way God has offended you….well, the word is clear that Jesus will be a stumbling block to some.

As for my wall, just as I would not allow a person to behave in a spirit of dishonour, bitterness or repeated hard hearted criticalism in my own home – I won’t allow it here either.

This is a place for friends to connect with me and encourage one another if they want to….this is not a place to slam or make false accusations.

People who have honest questions are welcome.

People who are rude and just looking for something to jump on are not.

Most people would have blocked you a long time ago. I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt and see if you would begin to ask honest questions in a genuine and kind spirit. You have not turned that corner.

I will keep this comment up for the sake of this discourse but will delete future ones that are in a rude, dishonouring or accusing spirit. :)

If they continue I will simply block you.

I do want to encourage you thought – you clearly have an amazing call on your life Joanna to be running from God this hard. I will pray He meets you in a way that speaks your language.

Take care and I pray your heart finds healing and peace.

I am going to delete any other comments you have posted in the last hours that have a rude and dishonouring edge.

Bless you.

Ouch. Why bother trying to dialogue with anyone promoting themself in the public squre who makes assumptions about your motive, who does not read emotion in text well, who spiritualizes, dodges and shows an ongoing pattern of fear, persecution, disengagement, lack of transparency and erasure?   Joanna’s clear self aware and nonthreatening answer back to Faytene puts many of us her to shame.

If your intent was to embarrass or to shame me; you did not succeed. If anything – you have embarrassed yourself. Nothing in your response demonstrated a Christ-like mentality. You did not even answer my initial question; actually, you proved my hypothesis correct in your retort.

Everything we do should be honouring to God; not to another person. I find it interesting that you seem to know the condition of my heart and my relationship with God. Scripturally, I believe it is correct to say that no one knows the heart of man but God.

As you said, there is a difference between genuine questioning and ‘looking for something to jump on’. I have questioned in neither sense of the word. Academia has challenged me to: question, analyze, and look for the motivation behind the thought. That said, I left The Embassy because when I began questioning what I was being told; I was dismissed or quoted Bible verses. To me, quoting scripture says you have no other means to support your argument. By leaving the institutional church, I have realized and reconnected with God and what that name means to me.

As far as your wall goes; Facebook is a public forum; if you would like to block me please feel free to do so. Perhaps you should not add people that you don’t personally know.

Cheers

I guess Faytene is not strong enough in her foundations to be able to ‘take it as well as give it out’……… Interesting !

  2. Bene D says:

Long history of this behavior. Long sad history.

  3. Me says:

Faytene comes from a culture of this type of behaviour. You will find this behaviour from the people she associates with as well. I am usually pretty reserved about calling people arrogant, because many times people come across that way and they simply are not, but after having years to reflect on it all, I do not hesistate to call many in that movement here in Canada very arrogant. When you are a leader in that circle, they teach you how important you are because you are appointed by God, and anyone who questions you is probaly “backslidden”.

I too became sick of not being able to question anything. If somebody said that somebody was healed of cancer, and then they died, we were supposed to keep pretending that they got healed. If somebody gave a prophecy about something good that was supposed to happen and it didn’t, it was because we didn’t pray enough for it to happen. If something bad was prophesied to happen and it didn’t, it’s because we did pray enough and God sent an angel to save us. It was NEVER that the prophecy was false. Eventually you figure, what’s the point in listening to prophecy if it’s always subject to change without notice?

I will point out that in my experience, it’s the younger one’s in the movement that seem to carry all the arrogance. I didn’t find the previous generation that trained Faytene to be arrogant at all (Bill Johnson seems to be the exception, who seemed extremely arrogant in his public statements during the Bentley fiasco). I actually found them to be very approachable, and most importantly, you could sense their sincerity, and you felt that their compassionate and caring attitude towards even total strangers was very genuine. It is actually quite surprising, having grown up around those people, that the next generation became so harsh, militant, arrogant, cold, tight-lipped, etc. I haven’t quite figured that one out yet.

  5. Rick Hiebert says:

I can help with one question—Faytene, per her latest newsletter has let her interns go. Her “ministry house” is currently empty, so far as I know, except for her.

  6. Rick Hiebert says:

    Good on you, BD

I presume that Faytne’s direct quote starts with “You indeed are…”, right?

From the department of unintentional irony, Faytene on her Twitter feed two days ago:

“Faytene: Today I am thanking Jesus for His Body. I am falling more and more in love with you all!!!
    2 days ago via txt”

It would be a lot better for Faytene to leave the comments and her responses on, then apologize as necessary. Apologizing would show grace and humility, but getting rid of everything may make her FB readers wonder if she makes a practice of hiding things instead of letting her audience sort out this disagreement for themselves.

The Bible says that two brothers working together, even in a dispute. is “as iron sharpens iron” Perhaps God may be offering Faytene a chance to become wiser here, whch she is chosing not to take advantage of?

Winston Smith is not worth emulating, and the Internet has no “memory holes”.

  7. Rick Hiebert says:

“…running from God so hard…” What an obnoxious thing to write, BTW.

  8. John Payzant says:

This is nothing in how she writes in comparison with meeting her. She’s really paraniod of anybody looking at her closely. She sometimes goes to The Pantry in North Van on Thursdays. Another group Faytene Kryskow is close with is Worship Invasion Moderated by Ed Rubuliak. I agree with Bene about the long sad history of their behaviours is true. I’ve met both of these persons and commented on it too. Almost anybody, Evangelical Christian or not, would find these situations to be quite a foreign subculture. I agree with Bene D and Rick Hiebert about the New Apostolic Revolution. If Faytene Kryskow and Ed Rubuliak were to say, ‘We are New Apostolic Revolution’ would probably put an end to the use of all the Evangelical Churches they use for their Venue events. If any person looks at them too closely are a threat and then they react. This attitude is reflected in the comments about Faytene’s Facebook responses.

  9. John Payzant says:

Faytene once responded to my on Bene D when I attended The Cry Lumbermens’ Arch Stanely Park around 2009 typed to me, ‘What God do you worship?’
What kind of a question is that? The choice of words? The best defence is an offence I think is how Faytene thinks. Faytene Kryskow and Ed Rubuliak are both fast talkers is talking down to control. She will call something what she wants it to be. She’s created quite a lot of enemies. Talk about personality clashes.

  10. Tim says:

Considering she’s a proponent of Jason Kenney and his ilk, would you expect anything less? She has learned well but perhaps she could benefit from going to hear George Galloway speak this weekend in Toronto and find out how to handle the really tough questions/issues. Chances are though that she is probably praying against him because he will be telling a truth that her people not only don’t want to hear but will go out of their way to prevent, right Mr. Kenney? I believe what Galloway said to Kenney also applies to Faytene, “the people of Canada deserve better than you”!

  11. Hopesome says:

Rapport: You have to know your subject !, and then where they are coming from and then how to handle what they bring with them …………. insight, wisdom and knowledge.

As complex as our mental abilities are (just look at actors and there mental dexterity and ability to ‘take on the personalities of ‘a role’ etc;) we ‘fail on a grand scale’ to reach the depth of ‘communication that is necessary to bring, really I suppose, depth …………. Our patience runs out, our concentration is limited, and our subject matter if not relevant to another, is boring !!! ……….. Depth is rarely reached and we ‘just keep going’ in the hope that we’ll survive, in one way or another – which can be shambolic and sporadic at times ………….. We are bit players and sound bites in the game called life ………….. we daily take a bit of this and a bit of that and then to keep us fresh a bit of the other, we survive …………. all that can fall apart when for that survival we need someone who can answer our need of depth when it surfaces ………….. in a way thats what jesus is all about ….. IF WE WANT HIM TO, he will bring us depth. We surely expect those that represent him to, in some way, bring us that depth of knowledge and intimacy about him. Faytene obviously fell short ‘in her answers’ and so the questions asked remain and the frustration that goes with that rebuttal linger on ……. hence ‘end of a conversation ‘ is unrequited !! Many profess to know both him and us …. but when challenged ‘rarely do’ ………….. THERE JUST TOO BUSY ……… getting there, getting that, and getting us ……….. KEEP KNOCKING HE SAID ………… lets hope there is someone ‘available and there when we do ……….. otherwise ‘whats the point’ will creep in and assail us ……

  12. Bene D says:

If you have a moment to fire off that newsletter to me Rick, I’d be grateful. Thanks.

Interesting timing: Plug for the 9th Ottawa team went up on YouTube yesterday.

“The last group visited with over 70 MPs in 4 days in November of 2009.” That is 15 or more MP’s a day.
Faytene announcing all the access she has on the Hill, Roxanne’s Law, prostitution and euthanasia and her other causes.
On 4MyCanada the live in intern positions are still posted, as is the June posting for a communications director.

I wonder if Faytene’s prominence in The Armageddon Factor will have any bearing on how many MP or Senator’s doors are open this year? A lot depends on how busy this session is also.

I got a response last year when I asked Faytene the value of the gifts she gives to politicians for the opportunity to see them.
This year team members pay their way along with hotel costs of nearly 500 dollars again

Another question. Is the 4MyCanada Ottawa office still in Ms. Kryskow’s home?

  13. Karamba says:

I ask that you please be careful when getting yourselves involved with people from those circles. (NAR/Charismatics/Third Wave) My life and mental health has been ruined as a result, and many people have gone off to even kill themselves, because it is that severe. There are counterfeit, mind control, jezabel and witchcraft demons operating in those circles, I don’t know if you believe in such things but it is the truth. Be very careful please. People in those circles come off as zombie like. I feel so ill at ease at their meetings. It’s like everything is very artifical. It’s all about who knows who, who’s the most spiritual, about becoming the next hot leader, about building minsitries and making money. Jesus is not even preached and if He is, it’s a mere detail. There is a lot of “honoring” going on between leaders but no honor for Jesus. There is a lot of error, beating up of the sheep. It’s bad to have natural feelings, it’s like it’s a bad thing. Feeling is bad, questioning is bad, everything is bad. The result is you get clones who talk the same and rehash the same scriptures out of context and quotes without having a personal relationship with God nor understanding what it is they talk about. It’s a grave sin to even question anything leadership says and does, but then you hear bad things…very bad things. Even some instances where women have been abused, young girls molested but the leader is still the untouchable anointed one and keep getting invited in those talkshows where everyone wants to be, equivalent to Leno or Oprah, I don’t know. There is a lack of basic human emotions. You never hear “sorry I was wrong”, “sorry about that”, “Oh I made a mistake” It’s just all very artifical and cold and fake. Even the people in the world have more feelings and love and authentictiy, sad to say. The LORD JESUS HIMSELF has asked me to QUESTION everything I hear esp. from books and so-called preachers and apostles. We spend time talking for hours and I ask Him one question after the next. Even things that the average christian would find offensive, but HEY…God is not offended. And HE ALWAYS ANSWERS and makes sure I understand. And the answer is not what you hear in most churches. I feel bad for people who think they know the truth but truly are very empty inside. Jesus died so we could have a PERSONAL relationship with HIM, not emulate and idolize a leader. Yes we can encourage but sadly today, the line between real wholesome encouragement and idol worship has become blurred.

The reason some are angry, mean and arrogant is because they are empty inside and have no relationship with Jesus Christ.

Be careful you’ve been warned. It’s not a game.

  14. Ron MacGillivray says:

Sounds like this Faytene is the kind of person that will drive even Jesus Christ himself to drink.

  15. laws632 says:

Geez reading that, I was struck by the classical paranoic/schizophrenic modelling: build up/tear down & self praise: VERY classical signs of personality disorder (N&P).
I recall many tell-tale signs that she is a very cloaked person; it’s that star thing that affects pretty much ALL people who are celebs.
Just like 100 H st is very much a political/NWO/ecumenist/emergent church vehicle, those at the “top” are more than they appear: messengers of the Gospel.
They are really messengers of an anti-gospel.
FK has been a darling of the show, this week featured open theism … Greg Boyd Tackles The Myth Of The Christian Religion”. His stance is Bivalentist Omniscience: “The future is alethically open and therefore epistemically open for God because propositions asserting of future contingents that they ‘will’ obtain or that they ‘will not’ obtain are both false. Instead, what is true is that they ‘might and might not’ obtain.”
In other words, God is not immutable OR omniscient. He only knows PART of the future :)
    ——-
So these stars quote scripture but have a different power than God energizing them. Faytene is a “Elijah List” member – just the title shows how they view themselves. Or as mentor Joyner states “better than Elijah and Paul.”

That 19 yr old girl is brilliant btw

  16. John Payzant says:

    Karamba

These NAR/Charismatics/Third wave are quite a network

When Faytene Kryskow did The Cry in Lumbermens’ Arch she had a previous meeting in Abbotsford Christian Assembly

There was a joint venue with ‘Worship Invason’ moderator is Ed Rubuliak and his wife is Wendy. At ACA is a Roy Rubuliak both come from Glad Tidings Church Fraser & E18th Vancouver, BC. Another person at ACA is an Elder/Apostle, sounds NAR to me ! As you say, ‘who knows who’, Faytene knows ED.

Faytene Kryskow and Ed Rubuliak have pride complexes abd run around like little Popes.

  17. laws632 says:

    Forgot link to http://cicministry.org/commentary/issue58.htm.

VERY edifying & comforting that God really does know. Everything : )

  18. John Payzant says:

The very arrogant attitude from Faytene Kryskow is probably from some kind of Holier than thou, my way is the only way attitude.

It is a form of a negative-narrow attitude.

My way of the high way.

The best is to stay away from these kind of people.

These kind of incidents can suck the life out of a person

    Who needs that?

  19. John Payzant says:

I would question the mental health of the leaders.

I don’t think it is healthy for those who attend either.

With all the noise, emotions, dancing and dim lits is quite chaotic.

These groups with beliefs that are quite different can have effects too.

    This could isolate

Persons could feel more overly different in public than they ought to be.

    None of this is healthy

This fear, anger, us vs them mentality in the NAR/Charismatics/Third Wave is not good.

This is a form of a seige mentality

Initially, some person might want to find a group that will make them feel better when they come across one and or all of the above.

    What they end up with?

    It can go like this:

    -Fantasy

    -Desire

    -Disappointment

    About the leaders:

    -Delusionary

    -Grandeur

If a person needs something to help feel good

Maybe contemplate and reflect on these suggestions below:

Go for a long walk instead

    Read a good book

    Make a good meal

Do something good for someone or some place

    Attend a good lecture

Revitalize and old or cultivate a new hobby

  20. Bene D says:

I think when an insecure ‘leader’ uses Other to define themself; an enemy for contrast so that the leader and by extension followers can feel righteous and good and special about themself, most of us notice.

That someone does not accept designation of Other and does not feed the need of the leader feeling righteous and special gives me hope.

  21. Hopesome says:

When someone neglects or hurts you then for that moment they are an enemy and not of goodwill – sometimes when that happens we look for a ‘friend’ – that friend is then our hope and we, to some extent, ‘rely’ on them ……….. Faytene as ‘the friend’ brings many to her ‘call’ and ‘place’ and reliance on her can feed her ego and manner and manna ………. IT CAN ALL GO PEAR SHAPED though when that ‘friendship’ begins to demand ….. (maybe eddie longs problem!) and it then become’s YOU OWE ME/ then the expectation of payment can ‘lead to’ all sorts of grief ………., a vicious circle in the making if you’re not careful …..

  22. Bene D says:

” It can all go pear-shaped”. Nice turn of the phrase Hopesome.

  23. kate says:

I looked at her website and she has the same aesthetic taste as the rest of Patricia King types… “edgy”.. but really, satanic. They like scratchy art, broken glass, graffiti, dark colors, violent brush strokes. None of it is of “good rapport”. Beauty does not change. Their music is harsh, loud, offensive, screaming, and so is their artwork. This is so obvious that we don’t even see it. But I run when I see or hear anything that is offensive to the Holy Spirit. They will say, “This is what the younger Christians are attracted to.” Well, I say, “Then tell them the truth! This is ugly and offensive to God.. God’s taste does not change!” Where did this artwork come from that they all use? I first saw it on John Paul Jackson’s website, now they all use it. They think it is progressive and attracts the young people. What’s wrong with what is good and lovely?

  24. John Payzant says:

Check out the ‘Worship Invasion’ websight and attend one and see what makes it tick.

They are like Faytene Kryskow and Patricia King with their style.

They really have a thing for young people but the Moderators Ed & Wendy Rubuliak are older and I don’t know how they can stand the music.

Like Faytene Kryskow they talk fast is a form of talking down is a control game.

Like Faytene Kryskow they don’t like anybody looking at them too close sets off all their alarms

Their alarms are loud and nasty

  25. ISpeakLife says:

“To me, quoting scripture says you have no other means to support your argument. ” No. Quoting scripture is just that. Speaking the word of God. the Word of God is applicable to any situtation/circumstance. Sure it requires an explanation of HOW it applies, but we shouldn’t devalue of the word of God.

There is a proverb that says “When you want to find something wrong, you will”. That means that if you are looking for something to criticize Faytene Kryskow about, you will find plenty, just like I can find plenty of things to criticize about Bene if I set out with that purpose. You can pick ANYBODY in the body of Christ and pick and prod at all their facebook posts, comments and quotes especially people with constant exposure and you WILL find just the things you need/are looking for to slander that person. However, as the body of Christ we are to build one another up in love. 1 Corinthians 13. I really don’t sense any love reading the posts on this page, and it’s quite sad. Everyone has different personalities, it doesn’t make them less of a christian because they don’t like what you like or speak the way you do. #JustSaying

I actually went to High School with Faytene (or Fay as she went by back then). My first day at the new school, she welcomed me to the school as the President, then immediately said “just kidding”. After that, she was too good to talk to me. She was part of the pretty, popular crowd. At this time, she was still “just” Catholic.

Her mother and mine were friendly through their church activites and once, after we had graduated, another friend and I ran into her on the beach and the three of us probably walked together and chatted for 2 hours. She told her mother, who mentioned to mine that she was “amazed at how nice people you didn’t give a chance to earlier” could be.

I see from these articles that she hasn’t really changed, just gotten more fanatical in her beliefs. She was a sad little girl, and still is.

  28. Christian says:

Really what do you expect of her other then being paranoid. She speaks in tongues and God speaks to her. The later is a sign of schizofrenia….

    She claims to be engaged

I don’t trust or believe anything that comes out of her
