From Todd Bentley to Rick Joyner?

A news story about Rick’s Joyner’s woes might partly explain why Todd Bentley is on the road right now with his 12 state/city/region revival.

The local TV station has a story about Joyner’s ongoing problems with the old PTL Heritage tourism centre, which Morningstar now owns.

The latest story, from local tv station WSOC, notes that there has been a long dragged out dispute between morning star and the local municpal government’s developement authority regarding whether Morningstar could, or should, finish the old PTL development.

A local politician says that Morningstar has missed deadlines, including one set in concrete as it were. But while he doubts that Morningstar can make good on its word, Rick Joyner has a sunnier view:

On Thursday, Joyner said the church is now ready to move forward.

“Let’s gets the permits and get this thing going. We’re ready to move on it,” he said.

An older newspaper story from back in March, paraphrased this as being an issue. I’m adding emphasis:

Since 2004, MorningStar has worked to restore the 345 rooms, suites and office spaces of the old [PTL] hotel.

So far, though, the ministry hasn’t been able to get enough people to commit to buying into the retirement facility – which has made it more difficult to get the financing the ministry needs to bring the building up to meet county safety codes.

What has changed? Is the economic sitation so much better thatMorningstar has seen a rise in donations? Or has Todd Bentley hit the road to preach after agreeing to give some of his donations to Morningstar to get things moving again at their renovation project? All Morningstar needs is some earnest money to hire a construction company and put them to work. Satisfied, the local politicians could the nagree to allow Morningstar a few years to finish up.

I wondered out loud, a few months ago, whether Rick Joyner needed Todd Bentley to get out on the road to save Morningstar’s project. Unless Joyner is coming across large amounts of money, I might have been correct in my guess. If Todd Bentley is the only Morningstar-connected draw that could earn the necessary money…?

I’ve stood outside looking up at that building and it made me feel very sad. It’s purpose for grand social occasions were all left behind unfinished. I shutter to imagine someone trying to wake up this shell of a building. Two reasons concern me. Who will fund this project and who will control the people in the building? It would take quite some organization to manage such a project. The serious issues, about this building, should not be of concern for an elderly person seeking out a home. Facts about the building and it’s future progress should be made public knowledge. You don’t buy a home with questionable issues hanging over it. For me, I see there are still problems hanging over this building.

Thanks for posting on this Rick – saw it at Religion News Blog and spend a few hours following links from Regent Park residents and old news stories etc.

I wasn’t aware the Moravian Falls project had caved. Good on that county for shutting them down. Deception Bytes was at Morning Star when that prophecy and project was a big deal.

The county has let Joyner cruise on this tower for three years. I don’t blame people for being really ticked.

Even though structural engineers say the building is sound – have a look:

    Well said Susan.

This ‘can of worms’ I ‘m not going to dig deeper into, suffice is to say its intentions and contentions plus the adorable cast of charaters lead me to a conclusion that printable would leave me in loss not them.

Why do you think Bentley was “restored”? He is nothing more than publicity and a cash cow. He will deceive thousands into “sowing a seed”.

Todd Bentley is, as well as others, the red herring in all this.

I carry no brief for Todd Bentley or Rick Joyner. But your story doesn’t really establish any new developments or provide any new or important facts relevant to Bentley. You say “might partly” this or that. You ask “has Todd Bentley hit the road to…?” and other questions. Yes, we all can ask gazillions of questions. But all you really have here are a few facts about Joyner’s Morningstar “tourism center” project, and how it hasn’t been on schedule. But trying to insinuate into it some kind of sinister connection with Bentley all this seems more like an exercise in creating innuendoes. It looks more like armchair “tabloid reporting” instead of genuine “journalism” to me. I have to agree with Hopesome on this. Bentley is a red herring in all this.

When a christian organizaton becomes so preoccupied with the earthly devine purposes of God, then they just may loose sight on the heavenly purposes of God. When something stunts the growth of a human body, it effects can damage the entire body. Same with the Holy Spirits work in his church.

It’s not the money poored out like a sacrifice for building a home in that tower, or all the work poored out like a sacrifice to complete the building of that tower. It’s about God’s will. I don’t think God wants his children to make unsound decisions, when it could cause finacial distress on the giver.

Morningstar appears to have a track record of serious debt issuses with this tower. Why ask the people to buy into something that could result in very serious consequences? My concern is that Todd Bentley’s modus operandi, is asking for large sums of money.
