I’m not going to keep hammering on the civil suit filed against Daystar Television Network, but I would still like to see the counter-suit filed by Daystar against 3 former employees.
This pr was sent out December 3rd, Daystar uses a well known US Christian celebrity pr firm It’s interesting to note what has been amended, ( a necessary and common practice) and what hasn’t, Daystar made the decision to publicly play the victim, deflect and discredit – it works on their fan base and keeps their money coming in. As with any civil suit, it remains to be seen how easily a jury or a judge is swayed.
Update: Bedford Police released a very short statement saying they had closed their investigation requested by the Daystar Television Network claim of being extorted.
After review of the details provided by Day Star, and consulting with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, there does not appear to be any criminal conduct under the Texas Law. As such, the Bedford Police Department has ended its investigation into the matter.
Tonya Harlin, supervisor of economic crimes in the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office, said her review of the case found that Fisher had contacted Daystar’s lawyers to make a legal claim on behalf of his clients — not to commit a crime.
“With what we were presented, it appeared to me to be lawsuit settlement negotiations,” Harlin said.
Daystar demanded police investigate after the plaintiffs lawyer gave Daystars legal team a heads up a civil suit would be filed. The network says it will continue with the countersuit against 3 former employees.
“Daystar Television Network will continue to aggressively pursue its legal claims to prevent former employees and their legal counsel from capitalizing on the personal crisis experienced by co-founders, the Lambs,” the statement said.
As a criminal matter, extortion has been consolidated under the Texas theft statute and seems difficult to prove, said Danny Price, a Tarrant County assistant district attorney. He said without knowing all the facts, it would be difficult to speculate on what constitutes extortion.
“You would almost give (someone) the benefit of the doubt by the fact than an attorney was involved,” Price said. “But you still expose yourself to that possibility.”
Fisher said Daystar’s countersuit was “utterly baseless and that is now beyond dispute.
“The Bedford Police Department and the Tarrant County district attorney’s office are to be commended to bringing the matter to an end so quickly,” Fisher said.
Fisher noted the announcement by Bedford police mentioned their conclusion that no laws were broken was made after reviewing the details provided by Daystar.
“They never even interviewed me or my clients,” Fisher said. “They didn’t need to.”
Marcus and Joni Lamb who are friends with Phil McGraw appeared on his syndicated show, Dr. Phil today. They also did an appearance last week on ABC’s Good Morning America.
The Church of God, which ordained Marcus Lamb as a bishop has ordered him to not to preach for a year. Lamb says he will then go through a years probation. Lambs denominational leadership found out just prior to the November 30 Daystar tv show Celebration admission by Lamb that he had committed adultery with a employee.

Don’t you think its all rather tacky and smiley popcorn hotdogs!I am begining to suffer from a surfiet of the sickly side of Jesus and his disciples! – Maybe thats the point of ‘many will fall away’ – his disciples are just not doing him justice right now
END TIME please LORD ! before we all ‘vomit’ at the actions of your so called representatives among us!
Daystar had two weeks to plan it’s public pr war, they count on people being unaware that it is possible and even probable Mr. Fisher, the lawyer for the plaintiff did not release anything to the media.
The information is public – any media outlet would be monitoring the court dock for movement.
Daystar is doing the very thing they condemn in their ‘opponents’ – willfully and deliberately hoping people won’t notice.
His disciples are not doing Him just right now…indeed Hopesome, well said.
Tim: In the unredacted copy of the lawsuit I sent you, two of the employees named who discovered the love letters and other communication were both IT. One was the webmaster, the other Director of IT.
Going to be difficult to discredit and bootstomp them too, (even if Daystar tries to bury the former marketing director) how deceitfully stupid and arrogant to you have to be to you use company equipment in carrying on an affair? Daystar continues to come across as a a toxic workplace.
What a sad pathetic mess.
The Christian community hurts when these things happen. we need to be healed.
