August 27 is set as the date when hundreds if not thousands, of very conservative Christian youngsters will gather in Ottawa. My guess is that they will try to meet on Parliament Hill.
It’s The Cry Ottawa, and if the last such event is any indication, they will gather to sing, hear speakers and pray for Canada.
No doubt Faytene Grasseschi (the former Faytene Kryskow) could be interested in being there, or involved in some way, as The Cry was her baby for so many years. But then again, maybe the new leaders she’s grooming will step up.
The Cry’s feature some laudable things, but as I noted in my extended post on the last such event, The Cry Vancouver in 2009, dominionist and theocratic emphases have had a way of creeping in.

I checked out the ‘thecrycanada.ca’ website and the banner says ‘…a move of righteousness to errupt across Canada….’. Errupt? Can’t they spell, or at least learn to use a spell checker?
I can’t decide whether these people are dangerously stupid or stupidly dangerous.

Rick, actually it would have been more traditional for the wording to have been: Faytene & Robert (then below their first names) Grasseschi.
I think that it was set up by someone who admires Faytene, grudgingly acknowledges her new married name but somehow thinks Robert is a hanger-on to their star.
Personally, I really don’t give a crap how an organization chooses to exercise their free speech, but what really pisses me off is that these antics are considered as a “charitable” activity. Perhaps “free thought” should also be charitable… Fuck Me!!!!
