Much of the US’s woes stem from the early
days of Reagan and get carried on by Bush 1,
and Bush 2.
First it was deregulation and then it was exporting
jobs to foreign countries to meet the price point
for one’s merchandise at Walmart.
Then it was the deregulation of the banking sector
and the collapse of the S&Ls [savings and loans]
businesses. Anyone remember Silverado?
The whole US has moved into what I charitably describe
as casino capitalism. And it all happened under the watch
of Republican presidents.
America, be warned–particularly since this is an
election year.
I don’t see freedom as the problem for these occurrences. I think it’s more about a failure within a system. For example, the corporations and it’s bottom line, capital gains and the taxes on the profits. The value or worth become more about the investment. No matter or thought about greed. So here is a piece, of moral decay within a system. Then, there are the broad social aspects set up to help the poorest of the poor. It fails too, because it will expect total dependence on a system that places value within it’s assests. Then, there are the bitter wounds of division with a great system. Over time, if the divisions become so great, a system will fail within. If the moral decay, within a system, reaches into the areas where charitable acts, through various organizations accept donations, to kindly aid the poor, take a profit too, then it’s foundation is meaningless.
There is a saying, figuratively speaking. It’s the nature of the beast.
There is the global influence too. Like price fixing. One instance is that the US depends on oil. We can see how the major oil companies around the world effect the price of oil. The countries that should be cheaper to export from into the US, by the time it gets to the gas pump, well price fixing occurs. I mean, it’s like the oil companies set the standard as to the price of oil. They definitely have a say in world issues. Thus, the very very sad hardships get harder.
