← Independent Fundamentalist Baptists rocked by dismissal and investigation of Jack Schaap
I believe you may be one of the millions circulating all over the net calling the man a pedophile, pervert, child rapist. Perhaps he is, maybe he isnt, know one knows for sure yet. What is certain is that this is what you self declared righteous live for. Did you ever write a inter net message pertaining to the millions of lives touched by the Spirit of God before this man made his horrible choices. Have you ever once since this occurred prayed with compassion and tears not only for the victim (of course I know you have done that)but for Jack Schapps son and daughter and wife and grandchildren and the man himself. I believe those prayers (not vile internet attacks) would have been Christs focus. Have you ever in the 11 years prayed for this mans protection, for his guidance, for his choices? This is the real love of Christ, this is what will change hearts and the world. Not rejoicing in ruined lives over the web to accentuate your superiority. I will pray for you. You can attack it and criticize it, but you cannot stop it.
It is a tough world to live a Godly life…folks are surrounded by indecent dress….and etc….I am praying for the Schapp family …all of them….My heart hurts …Dr Hyles has always been a wonderful hero of the faith….he always said when you point your finger …remember there are three pointing back at yourself….My prayer is even so …Lord come quickly….
To Mark and Barbara:
Jack Schaap was a heretic, it was about time he got exposed. He taught things quite contrary to the Scriptures. He was a jerk, claiming that men should be the leader, then in the same breath said Eve was the reason for the damning of the world by sin. So which is it? If Adam was the leader he should have been, he never would have taken of the fruit would he? Read Romans 5:12-14. Vs 14 states: “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” God clearly places the blame on Adam, not Eve. He does not say Eve’s transgression. Schaap also claimed ridiculous things in his book on marriage. That the Lord’s supper was a spiritual intercourse. Ridiculous blasphemies. The only explanation for sitting under teachings like that is that you have your eyes on the man, Schaap, and not the Lord Jesus Christ, which should be your focus as a Christian. Read your Bible, and you have no problem exposing false prophets. And Barbara, ridiculous to claim that he fell because of indecent dress. If he was the man of God, had his heart right, he wouldn’t have fallen. Ludicrous to blame some 16 or 17 year old girl when he’s 54 years old. I could go on and on about his heresies, but there are too many. It is a very sad situation, and yes prayer for all involved, but let’s place the blame where blame is due, and that’s on Schaap.
Saying let’s talk about all the good he did before is like wanting to talk about all the good Paterno did prior to the Sandusky scandal. I realize we are all subject to sin and to falling, but it is OUR own fault, and no one else’s fault. He was arrogant. Obviously had a problem with women, saying in his messages that he had heard amazing grace sung sexually. Pardon? I’ve heard that song sang probably hundreds of times, and no one has ever sang that song sexually. That is probably one of the most absurd of his comments.
When our churches are so large that the Pastor has the time to chase and follow up on 16 year old girls, they have got large and pastors are not busy doing The Lord’s work.
Many of these Mega churches should sell off the property, divide the flock between the 100′s of “pastors” they employ, fix the internet where they can’t go on porn sights, and demand these men go to work.
This happened to Jimmy Swaggart, Eddie Bishop, Dr. Bob Gray(Jacksonville, Fl.), etc. I grew up in the heyday of the great independent pastors and the majority were and are honorable men. It seems today we feel like the big banks -we are too big to fail-and non of us are.
Hopefully, Bro. Schaap can reconcile with his wife and family, get forgiveness, and pastor again. God allows serious sins to be forgiven (KING DAVID). Praying for the church and Hyles-Anderson College.
Thee trouble with the church..not enough Bible reading and too much hero worship beginning way back when with Schaap’s father-in-law.
You’ve got to be kidding. Hopefully he can pastor again? Gee, what’s in your closet, Pastor Randy?
The sooner people realize there is no god and that all religions are simply myth, the sooner we can do things that really make a positive difference. Imagine those millions of dollars going to worthy causes instead of lining the pockets of con artists.
Sexual abuse by church leaders knows no boundaries.
Wake up, sheeple!
