I am surpised that the Discovery Channel is still pursuing this, as they will be flamed by those who have problems with Bentley’s past.

And, as I have noted before, if Discovery cameras catch Bentley being “bad”, will it air? If it is carefully crafted, in the way of most “reality” shows, Discovery will bring foward some things and hide others, creating a misleading picture of Bentley.

And I’ll bet dollars for doughnuts that there is no way that Todd Bentley will participate in this show without some sort of veto power over what goes on air.

Bentley says to “pray”. For those worried about what will come to pass with this, that is an excellent idea.

UPDATE: Apparently, Todd needs all the publicity he can get, as he and Rick Joyner have had to resort to paying an Internet web service to get the word out about their upcoming conference.

Interesting. Discovery likes weird stories and freaks. And IS THERE ANYONE/THING FREAKIER THEN THE Taudd? Ratings prob would be pretty good due to his antics. Prob a lot of tattoo folks would watch! Aka LA Ink/ Kat von D, Jesse James etc. Plus he has an upgraded wifey and no kids. And a Harley.

I have gone beyond pray for him and just hope the Lord whoops him! He has tested my tolerance one miracle too far!!

I wonder what kind of viewers The Discovery Channel is aiming for, if Bentley gets the deal he wants, or his prayer answered? Then, there are the ads. Like those advertisers who will be banking on Todd to produce. I wonder what ads will be played. I suppose Todd can be bought. Because somebody out there would have a vested interest in him, he would have to produce his religion? I wonder which channel of The Discovery Network they want to put him on. I could not even imagine this could happen. Then again, Todd relies on, was it a purple elephant Jessa saw? Oh well, I hope Emma does not show up if it’s true.

What does the term ‘vision casting’ mean?

    Pitching?

  5. Susan says:

In the case of Todd Bentley, would “vision casting” have a meaning like “strategic planning” or “organizational development”? Pitching, selling some type of “entertainment” or “performance”.

  6. Brianmpei says:

Reality shows are the cheapest to produce. If there’s an audience (and Lakeland proved there is) it means big bucks for the network. Todd will be given some input on what does and does not go on in the show, it won’t be an expose or documentary style program. Ultimately though the producer will decide what gets on the air, what has the greatest entertainment value. The pitch will be something like “the Osborne’s meets big tent evangelicalism”, that’s a pretty easy sell. Todd’s ego is so big and so engaged that he won’t think there’s anything TO edit, he’ll just want to make sure it’s not an expose.

The’ll film for 3 days and he’ll have 4 days off. They’ll follow him to conferences, etc. but not for facts or information just to catch the crazy. People would tune in to this, sadly, some to cheer, some to jeer at exactly the same things. As long keeps his asking price down a first season of the show has to be a no-brainer to the network.

And the world will become just a little stupider for it.

Vision casting is – using a new term with the authority that comes from knowing only I know what ‘the term vision casting means!

Give me strength and courage have they no shame these people……………..

He has trampled on ‘the garden of hearts that is only the lords to choose how to trample on………..

    Laws said it all really……….

  8. anonymous says:

Given Todd’s track record, for all we know he could be lying when he says he’s talking to the Discovery Channel…

  9. Dave says:

I could get behind a reality show tracking Shonna Bentley’s life and that of the children after Todd dumped her for his current squeeze. Shonna might need the money, too.

I would watch it for the humour factor, plus it would be like driving past a car accident – you just have to look ~
I have to admit I have watched L.A. Ink and Sunset Tan lol. Kinda freak shows.

I just read his trips to heaven and seeing Jacob’s ladder in St. Paul’s BACK YARD lol, I posted a comment on > Todd Bentley may now travel and minister as he wishes<

  11. Sean says:

Sounds like this is mainly rumor generated by Bentley’s Twitter account.

The Abbotsford Today article on August 25 indicated that Dicovery Channel was denying this project.

  12. Susan says:

I appreciated the information you posted Sean. Maybe with more articles that will identify the truth, Todd’s grandiosity, will be somewhat deflated.

  13. Susan says:

I believe it does not matter how much noise Todd Bentley makes, it’s still not fair to God, to take his word and make it crooked.

There is still a “flood of justice” and a “river of rightous living” in His word. In His word we have faith and hope.

Go ahead with your worship services and healing ministry. Go ahead and claim this is the Holy Spirit. What I see is your religion producing unethical choices. One of these choices is putting the money first.
